- تعد قاعة العرش في دنقلا والمعروفة باسم مبنى المسجد موقعاً أثريا في بالسودان. وإنه مبنى من الطوب من طابقين يقع على تل صخري ويطل على المدينة ووادي النيل تم بنائه في القرن التاسع، وهو بمثابة مبنى تمثيلي غني لملوك (Makurian) في عام 1317م خلال فترة تراجع (Makurian)، تم تحويله إلى مسجد يخدم هذا الغرض حتى تم إغلاقه وتحول إلى نصب تاريخي في عام 1969م بعد ذلك بدأ علماء الآثار البولنديون في حفر المبنى ووصفت بأنها «الصرح الأكثر أهمية ورمزية في تاريخ السودان وذلك في العصور الوسطى» وهو الآن يصنف أقدم مسجد محفوظ في دولة السودان. - Die Thronhalle von Dunqula (engl.: Throne Hall of Dongola, Mosque Building) ist ein Baudenkmal in Alt Dunqula, Sudan. Das zweistöckige Ziegelgebäude liegt auf einem steinigen Hügel oberhalb der Stadt und des Nil-Tales. Es wurde ursprünglich im 9. Jahrhundert errichtet und war das reich verzierte Repräsentationsgebäude der Makurianischen Könige. 1317 während des Niedergangs des makurianischen Reiches wurde es als Moschee umgebaut und wurde so genutzt, bis es 1969 geschlossen und zu einem historischen Denkmal gemacht wurde. Kurz darauf begannen polnische Archäologen das Gebäude zu untersuchen und auszugraben. Es gilt als wahrscheinlich „wichtigstes, symbolträchtiges Gebäude in der mittelalterlichen Geschichte des Sudan“ und ist momentan die älteste erhaltene Moschee im Sudan. (de)
- The Throne Hall of Dongola, also known as the Mosque Building, is an archaeological site in Old Dongola, Sudan. It is a two-storey brick building situated on a rocky hill, overlooking the town and the Nile valley. It was originally built in the 9th century, serving as the richly adorned representative building of the Makurian kings. In 1317, during the period of Makurian decline, it was converted into a mosque, serving this purpose until it was closed and turned into a historic monument in 1969. Shortly afterwards Polish archaeologists from the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw began to excavate the building. It has been described as possibly "the most important, symbolic edifice in the medieval history of Sudan". It is presently the oldest preserved mosque in Sudan. (en)
