Tuvo su mejor temporada en 1981 cuando ganó el Gran Premio de Checoslovaquia y terminó la temporada en segundo lugar, detrás de Ricardo Tormo. En 1972 y 1973 fue tercero en el campeonato. Construyó la mayoría de sus propias motocicletas. Jan Thiel y Martin Mijwaart fueron sus maestros. Las marcas de motor que utilizó fueron Jamathi, Kreidler, Bultaco, y Morbidelli. He had his best season in 1981 when he won the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix and finished the season in second place, behind Ricardo Tormo. In 1972 and 1973 he was third in the championship. He built most of his own motorcycles. Jan Thiel and Martin Mijwaart were his teachers. The engine marks he used were Jamathi, Kreidler, Bultaco, Casal and Morbidelli. He was twice national champion. - Theo Timmer (6 maart 1949) is een Nederlandse oud-motorcoureur. Timmer was rond 1970 begonnen als monteur bij het Nederlandse raceteam Jamathi. In 1971 startte hij voor Jamathi in de nationale races in de klasse 50cc en dat jaar behaalde hij het nationaal kampioenschap. Een jaar later werd hij de vaste coureur voor het raceteam in de internationale races. Zowel in 1972 als 1973 won hij een grand-prix en beide jaren eindigde hij als derde in de einduitslag van het wereldkampioenschap. In 1973 verliet Timmer Jamathi waarna hij tot 1977 verminderd actief was in de racerij. In de jaren daarop volgend werd hij vooral in het jaar 1981 tweede in de internationale klasse 50cc door onder meer de winst in de Grand Prix-wegrace van Tsjecho-Slowakije. Nadat de klasse 50cc in 1983 werd stopgezet, stapte hij het jaar erop over naar de klasse 80cc om daarin tot zijn afscheid als motorcoureur in 1987 24 maal internationaal te racen. Hij bleef vervolgens in de racerij actief in onder meer de technische ondersteuning. En ondersteuning van zijn zoon. Woont al sinds 1975 in Lobith Gelderland. (nl)
