- The Tribe [ðə traɪb] (deutscher Titel The Tribe – Eine Welt ohne Erwachsene) ist eine neuseeländische Science-Fiction-Fernsehserie für Jugendliche. Die Serie wurde von Raymond Thompson geschrieben, umfasst fünf Staffeln mit insgesamt 260 Episoden und wurde erstmals 1999 in Großbritannien (FIVE) ausgestrahlt. Die deutsche Erstausstrahlung war am 23. April 2001 auf KiKa. Gedreht wurde die Serie in und um Wellington, Neuseeland.Die Produktion einer 6. Staffel wurde abgelehnt, da laut Raymond Thompson und Nick Wilson (Leiter Channel 5) die Serie zwar sehr gut lief, aber die Darsteller zu alt würden und damit die Kernhandlung zu weit gedehnt werde. Es wurde ein Spin-off mit dem Titel The New Tomorrow gedreht, welches eine ähnliche Handlung ausweist, aber ein jüngeres Publikum im Alter von acht bis zwölf Jahren ansprechen sollte.Ein für 2014 geplanter Film wurde aufgrund fehlender Sponsoren bisher nicht realisiert. Estos son algunos de los países donde ha sido emitida: Nueva Zelanda, Australia, Irlanda, Reino Unido, Alemania, Israel, Francia, Rumanía, Holanda, Noruega, Canadá, Finlandia, Estados Unidos, España, Serbia, Montenegro, Croacia, Ucrania, Dinamarca, Suecia, Suiza, Islandia, Estonia, Polonia, Eslovenia, Albania, Bosnia y Herzegovina , Sudáfrica, Singapur, Vietnam y Kuwait. La serie se estrenó por primera vez en el Reino Unido en abril de 1999, y la encargada de hacerlo fue Channel 5. A pesar de tratarse de una producción anglosajona, el rodaje tuvo lugar en Nueva Zelanda. En España fue emitida por Telecinco dentro del programa infantil a finales de 2003, solamente emitieron la primera temporada al no obtener la audiencia esperada por la cadena. FDF la reemitió con éxito, pero la cadena de Fuencarral no les cedió los derechos de emisión de las siguientes. Posteriormente fue emitida en algunas cadenas locales como Teidevisión, TeleAsturias u Onda Cádiz (entre otras) pertenecientes al grupo Vocento. Cuenta con un spin-off llamado The New Tomorrow, disponible en el catálogo de Amazon Prime Video España en V.O.S.E. Durante el 2011 se conoció la realización de una película de Hollywood basada en la serie, cuyo nombre provisional era "The Tribe" (2014) aunque también se barajaba "Tribes". Desgraciadamente la producción de la película se canceló por diferencias creativas entre el creador y los productores, por lo que se desconoce si algún día verá la luz. La productora iba a ser Legendary, con Weta Workshop (El Señor de los Anillos) a cargo de los efectos especiales. (Los 100) y el director Rob Cohen (A Todo Gas) estaban involucrados en el proyecto. Sin embargo existen tres novelas oficiales que continúan la serie: La Tribu: Un nuevo mundo (6.ª Temporada, y publicada en español), La Tribu: Un nuevo amanecer (7.ª Temporada, y publicada en español) y La Tribu: (R)Evolución (8.ª Temporada, y publicada en español). Además de un videojuego para PC llamado La Tribu: El Juego que ha sido publicado, cuya edición en castellano salió el 1 de junio de 2022. Actualmente está siendo distribuida internacionalmente por , y el 4 de abril se estrenó en el canal sudafricano SABC 2. Primarily aimed at teenagers, The Tribe is set in a post-apocalyptic city in which all adults have been killed as the result of an unknown virus. The series focuses on the remaining children and teenagers who must navigate the social and personal issues of adolescence, while being faced with the larger problems of a society in a state of anarchy. The inhabitants of the city form social groups, or tribes, with the focus of the series on the Mall Rats, who fight to survive among other threatening tribes such as the Locos. Overarching themes include the focus on change from tradition, empowerment, religion, and the exploration of power and corruption. The series was filmed in Wellington, New Zealand. The series ran for 260 episodes and aired its final episode on 6 September 2003. A sequel series entitled The New Tomorrow was commissioned by Channel 5 and the Seven Network in Australia and first aired in 2005. It depicted the descendants of characters from The Tribe and was aimed at a younger audience. The Tribe experienced a resurgence in popularity after screening on ABC3 in Australia in 2009.
