- Die Freien Bibelforscher sind eine christliche Glaubensgemeinschaft, die sich nach eigener Lehraussage ausschließlich auf die Bibel als Glaubensgrundlage und auf das Vorbild der Gemeinde des Urchristentums beruft. Die Gemeinschaft entstand aus der sogenannten Bibelforscherbewegung. Gemeinden gibt es heute in mehr als fünfundvierzig Ländern. Einzelne Ortsgemeinden bezeichnen sich als Freie Bibelforschergemeinde, mit dem Zusatz der Ortsbezeichnung und beanspruchen nicht für sich, die jeweilige Gemeinde (oder Versammlung) Gottes vor Ort zu sein. Die Gemeinde Jesu sei keine irdische Institution, sondern der aus allen Christen weltweit zusammengefügte Leib Jesu abseits menschlicher Konfessionen. (de)

- De Vrije Bijbelonderzoekers (Engels: Free Bible Students) zijn leden van een aan het protestantisme verwante, fundamentalistische en millennialistische geloofsgemeenschap. Vrije Bijbelonderzoekers geloven dat de Bijbel het onfeilbare Woord van God is. Zij beschouwen de 66 boeken van de protestantse canon als door God geïnspireerd en als absolute waarheid. Bij interpretatie ervan hanteren zij het principe: letterlijk waar mogelijk, symbolisch waar het niet anders kan. De beweging spruit voort uit de stroming van de Bible Students (Bijbelonderzoekers), die eind 19e eeuw in de Verenigde Staten werd gestart door Charles Taze Russell. Uit dezelfde stroming ontstond de geloofsgemeenschap van Jehova's getuigen. In tegenstelling tot de Ernstige Bijbelonderzoekers wijzen zij de meeste geschriften van Russell af als valse leer. Om zich te onderscheiden van de overige afsplitsingen, gebruiken zij de benaming 'vrij', vooral ook om aan te geven dat zij niet de leer van een man of organisatie volgen. (nl)

Ruch powstał w Stanach Zjednoczonych w 1918 roku na skutek podziałów wśród Badaczy Pisma Świętego. Wolni Badacze Pisma Świętego tworzą niezależne i autonomiczne zbory, a ich nazwa nawiązuje do braku nadzoru nad zborami ze strony Towarzystwa Strażnica. Nazwa ta została nadana, by odróżnić Wolnych Badaczy Pisma Świętego od innych grup Badaczy Pisma Świętego, z którymi łączą ich korzenie historyczne. W 2021 roku Zrzeszenie Wolnych Badaczy Pisma Świętego liczyło w Polsce 1467 członków, w tym 188 usługujących, skupionych w 52 zborach. (pl)
