  • The Horrors décrit un peu comme la bande freak de la nouvelle scène anglaise, est un groupe de punk/gothique anglais formé durant l'été 2005. Les Horrors n'ont pas toujours été un quintet, en effet, ils étaient six à la base: un certain Cereal (?), dont on ne connait pas le poste exact, fut viré pour cause "d'égo démesuré". Le "leader", Faris Badwan, a fait anciennement ses preuves en tant que batteur dans le groupe The Rotters (d'où son nom de scène actuel), qui n'a eu le temps que de sortir un seul EP (limité à 5OO copies dans le monde!). La chanteuse, Emily Rotter, est restée une personne avec qui il garde un rapport exclusivement amical, mais néanmoins assez fort, depuis l'éclatement du clan. Rhys Webb et Tom Cowan ont de leur côté fondé une alliance pour créer le projet expérimental Spider And The Flies qui en écoute sur leur MySpace. Il y a du mouvement aussi du côté des jeunes moitiés respectives de certains Horrors: le collectif féminin de The She Set, composé de Mikyla (fiancée à Joshua Third), Harry (amie de Coffin Joe et soeur de Rhys Webb) et Izzy (amie suposée de Tomethy Furse). Avec une tournée 2007 qui a été bouclée en beauté à Leeds le 31 août, les Horrors ont assurés leurs show avec prestance, se montrant accessibles et sympathiques à l'égard des fans. La rentrée en studio pour le prochain opus serait prévue pour septembre et l'enregistrement terminé pour octobre. (fr)

Per quanto risulti abbastanza difficile incasellare la produzione musicale degli Horrors entro generi definiti, la critica spesso descrive il loro sound come Garage punk e Psychobilly anche se sono presenti degli elementi vagamente noise rock. Il gruppo, che si rifà esplicitamente al Punk 77 ed in particolare ai Sex Pistols, presenta comunque diverse affinità con moltissime altre storiche band punk (basti pensare alla somiglianza del loro look ed del loro stile musicale ai Misfits, nonché al loro primo singolo Sheena is a Parasite che richiama volutamente il famoso brano Sheena Is a Punk Rocker dei Ramones).
