- El salt d'alçada masculí va ser una de les proves del programa d'atletisme disputades durant els Jocs Olímpics d'Estocolm de 1912. Aquesta va ser la cinquena vegada que es disputava aquesta competició, sent una de les 12 que s'han disputat en totes les edicions dels Jocs. La prova es va disputar entre el diumenge 7 i el dilluns 8 de juliol i hi van prendre part 37 atletes de 10 nacions diferents. (ca)
- The men's high jump, also known as the running high jump to distinguish it from the standing high jump, was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the fifth appearance of the event, which is one of 12 to have been held at every Summer Olympics. The competition was held on July 7, 1912, and on July 8, 1912. Thirty-seven high jumpers from ten nations competed. NOCs could enter up to 12 athletes. The event was won by Alma Richards of the United States, the nation's fifth consecutive victory in the men's high jump. Germany won its second silver medal in the event, after 1904. (en)

- Skok wzwyż mężczyzn był jedną z konkurencji lekkoatletycznych rozgrywanych podczas V Igrzysk Olimpijskich w Sztokholmie. Zawody zostały rozegrane 7 oraz 8 lipca na Stadionie Olimpijskim. Bazując na wynikach zawodów poprzedzających igrzyska, faworytem do złota był Hornine. 29 marca 1912 roku poprawił on rekord świata, skacząc 1,98 m. Na próbie przedolimpijskiej, Hornine poprawił ponownie rekord świata skacząc 18 maja na wysokość 2,00 m i stając się tym samym pierwszym człowiek skaczącym wzwyż tak wysoko. Stał się także pionierem pewnej techniki skoku nazwanej „Western Roll”. Z grupy pozostałych zawodników duże szanse na medal mieli Egon Erickson, który wygrał mistrzostwa amatorów w 1909 oraz drugą próbę przedolimpijską oraz Alma Richards, który także wygrał próbę przedolimpijską. Ostatecznie konkurencję wygrał Richards wynikiem 1,93 m, zaś Hornine zdobył brąz skacząc cztery centymetry mniej. Zawodników rozdzielił zawodnik z Cesarstwa Niemieckiego Liesche, który skoczył 1,91 m. (pl)
