- Taxi are a Romanian pop-rock band. Their sound is a mix of rock and contemporary pop, occasionally introducing other influences such as Nashville-style guitar licks. The band was founded on 13 March 1999 in Bucharest. Dan Teodorescu, songwriter, lead vocalist and the band's leader, first recruited Adrian Bortun, with whom he had previously played in Altceva ("Something Else"). Bortun recruited his former bandmate Andrei Bărbulescu from Sarmalele Reci ("The Cold Sarmale"; sarmale are meat rolls with cabbage). Dan also recruited Georgică Pătrănoiu with whom he had also played before. The band represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song The Moon, finishing 17th. (en)

- Taxi is een Roemeense pop-rockband. Ze werd opgericht op 13 maart 1999 in Boekarest. Dan Teodorescu, de liedjesschrijver en zanger van de groep vroeg aan Adrian Bortun of hij mee wilde spelen in de band, hij kende hem van vroeger in een andere band. Ook Bortun spoorde iemand aan uit een vroegere band, Andrei Bărbulescu. Ook het 4de lid was een oude bekende van Dan, Georgică Pătrănoiu. Hun eerste hit was Criogenia salvează România, dat een ironisch politieke tekst had. In december 1999 stopte Andrei met de band en werd hij vervangen door Lucian Cioargă. De band vertegenwoordigde Roemenië op het Eurovisiesongfestival 2000 met het lied The Moon, ze werden 17de met 25 punten. In februari 2003 verliet Lucian de groep en werd hij vervangen door zijn voorganger Andrei, die de groep na lange tijd opnieuw vervoegde. (nl)

A banda foi fundada em 13 de março de 1999 em Bucareste. Dan Teodorescu, compositor, vocalista e líder da banda, recrutou Adrian Bortun, que tinha participado na banda Altceva. Bortun recrutou também Andrei Bărbulescu da banda ("Sarmale" quentes ; são almôndegas de carne envolvidas em folhas de couve); Dan recrutou Georgică Pătrănoiu com que tinha tocado também.O seu primeiro sucesso foi "Criogenia salvează România" ("Cryogenia salve a Roménia").
