- ستيراكس أمريكي أو جرس الثلج الأمريكي أو البرتقالي الوهمي، هو نوع نباتي موطنه جنوب شرق الولايات المتحدة ووادي أوهايو. تم الإبلاغ عنها من تكساس وفلوريدا إلى فرجينيا وميسوري. ينمو بشكل عام في المستنقعات والسهول الفيضية وفي الأماكن الرطبة الأخرى. ستيراكس عبارة عن شجيرة أو شجرة صغيرة يصل ارتفاعها إلى 5 أمتار (17 قدمًا). الأوراق إهليلجية إلى بيضوي حتى 10 سم (4 بوصات) طويلة. وتتحمل الأزهار في محاور بعض الأوراق. يوجد نوعان منه هما:
* ستيراكس امريكانوس فار. americanus (جرس الثلج الأمريكي) شائع في غابات المستنقعات والموائل الرطبة التي تتراوح من ولاية فرجينيا الغربية جنوبًا إلى فلوريدا والغرب إلى تكساس وميسوري.
* ستيراكس امريكانوس فار. pulverulentus (الجرس الثلجي الأمريكي الناعم) الشائع في غابات الصنوبر الرطبة التي تتراوح من ساوث كارولينا جنوبًا إلى فلوريدا وغربًا إلى تكساس وميسوري. (ar)

Styrax americanus is a shrub or small tree up to 5 m (17 feet) tall. Leaves are elliptic to ovate, up to 10 cm (4 inches) long. Flowers are borne in the axils of some of the leaves. Two varieties of this species exist:
* Styrax americanus var. americanus (American snowbell) common to swamp forests and wet habitats ranging from West Virginia south to Florida and west to Texas and Missouri.
* Styrax americanus var. pulverulentus (downy American snowbell) common to wet pine flatwoods ranging from South Carolina south to Florida and west to Texas and Missouri. (en)
