- Steven Joel Miller is a mathematician who specializes in analytic number theory and has also worked in applied fields such as sabermetrics and linear programming. He is a co-author, with Ramin Takloo-Bighash, of An Invitation to Modern Number Theory (Princeton University Press, 2006), with of The Mathematics of Encryption: An Elementary Introduction (AMS Mathematical World series 29, Providence, RI, 2013), and with Stephan Ramon Garcia of ``100 Years of Math Milestones: The Pi Mu Epsilon Centennial Collection (American Mathematical Society, 2019). He also edited Theory and Applications of Benford's Law (Princeton University Press, 2015) and wrote The Mathematics of Optimization: How to do things faster ( Volume: 30; 2017) and ``The Probability Lifesaver: All the Tools You Need to Understand Chance (Princeton University Press, 2017).
