- Skike (von engl. Skate und Bike) ist ein Sportgerät aus dem Bereich der Crossskates des Herstellers Skike Sports International Ltd. Sie eignen sich zur Fortbewegung außerhalb befestigter Straßen auf leichtem bis mittelschwerem Gelände. Sie werden ausschließlich unter Verwendung von Stöcken gefahren und gehören damit zu den nordischen Sportarten, beispielsweise dem Nordic (Cross) Skating. (de)
- A skike is a sports device consisting of two wheels attached to a frame that can be strapped onto the rider's shoe. Similarly to roller skis, the skike has a wheel in front and at the tail of an aluminium frame that can be attached to the foot. However, unlike roller skis and roller skates the tires are pneumatic. In addition to asphalt, the skikes can therefore be used on rougher terrain such as dirt roads, plaster and gravel. The skike straps onto the rider's shoe, and does not require any special type of boot. It has a brake on the heel that allows the rider to stop or brake gradually by pushing back the lower legs. The name skike is a combination of skate and bike. The skike rider moves forward in a skating motion, usually with poles, similarly to normal cross country skate skiing. Certain models such as the V9 200 series with ratcheted front wheels also allow skiing in the "classic" XC style. The skike was invented by Otto Eder in 1997. Supporters of the skike claim it gives great all-round exercise similar to cross-country roller skiing, but with the benefits of being able to brake easily and utilize more varied type of terrain. - Skike (Скайк) — это спортивное устройство для катания по твердым поверхностям таким как асфальт, грунт, гравий и лесные тропы, которое было изобретено Отто Эдером (Otto Eder) в 1997 году. Внешне очень схожи с лыжероллерами. Отличительная особенность скайков это пневматические колеса, которые крепятся к алюминиевой раме спереди и хвосте. На самой раме имеются крепления для фиксации ноги, которые позволяют зафиксировать ногу в любой обуви. Чаще всего катаются в кроссовках или походных ботинках. Пневматические шины увеличенного диаметра хорошо поглощают дорожные вибрации и преодолевают неровности, неподвластные роликовым конькам или лыжероллерам. Скайки оснащены тормозной системой. В любой критической ситуации спортсмен может прибегнуть к экстренному торможению без опаски вылететь вперед или применять плавное торможение, регулируя силу пяткой. Название Skike произошло от скрещения двух английский слов Ski (лыжи) и Bike (велосипед). От лыж скайки унаследовали форму, а от велосипеда колеса.В зависимости от модели скайки позволяют кататься коньковым ходом и классическим. Его также называют Скандинавским катанием на роликовых коньках, благодаря еще одной особенности – применению палок, как в скандинавской ходьбе. (ru)
