- Die Sächsische Volkspartei war eine linksliberale und radikaldemokratische Partei mit sozialistischen Ansätzen im norddeutschen Bund, die von 1866 bis 1869 Bestand hatte, ehe sie in der 1869 gegründeten Sozialdemokratischen Arbeiterpartei (SDAP) aufging. Die Sächsische Volkspartei wurde am 19. August 1866 unter entscheidender Mitwirkung von Wilhelm Liebknecht, Otto Freytag und August Bebel in Chemnitz gegründet. Sie stellte eine politische Allianz zwischen antipreußischen bürgerlich-liberalen Kräften und Angehörigen der sozialistischen Arbeiterbildungsvereine in Sachsen dar. Sie gilt als eine, wenn auch relativ kleine und kurzlebige Vorläuferpartei der späteren SPD. In der Präambel des der sächsischen Volkspartei verpflichtete sie sich dazu, „[…] die Feinde der deutschen Freiheit und Einheit unter allen Umständen und auf allen Gebieten zu bekämpfen […]“. Sie forderte „[…] das unbeschränkte Selbstbestimmungsrecht des deutschen Volkes […]“, die Förderung des „[…] allgemeinen Wohlstands […]“ und „[…] die Befreiung der Arbeit und der Arbeiter von jeglichem Druck und jeglicher Fessel […]“. - Le Parti populaire saxon (Sächsische Volkspartei en allemand) est un parti politique allemand libéral, démocrate orienté à gauche et influencé par le socialisme. Il existe de 1866 à 1869, du temps de la Confédération de l'Allemagne du Nord. Le Parti ouvrier social-démocrate (SDAP) lui succède. Le Parti populaire saxon est fondé le 19 août 1866 à Chemnitz par Wilhelm Liebknecht et August Bebel entre autres. Il est issu du rapprochement entre les libéraux anti-prussiens aux origines bourgeoises et les membres des (de) socialistes dans le Royaume de Saxe. C'est un des partis précurseurs du Parti social-démocrate d'Allemagne. Le programme politique du parti prévoit de « combattre coûte que coûte tous les ennemis de la liberté et de l'unité allemande ». Il réclame le droit pour « le peuple allemand à l'autodétermination » et ce sans barrière, le « confort pour tous » et « la libération du travail et des ouvriers de toute pression et de toute entrave ». - The Saxon People's Party (German: Sächsische Volkspartei) was a left-liberal and radical democratic party with socialist leanings in Germany, founded by Wilhelm Liebknecht and August Bebel on 19 August 1866 in Chemnitz, and integrated into the newly-founded Social Democratic Workers' Party (SDAP) on 8 August 1869. It was an alliance between liberal, anti-Prussian bourgeois and socialist workers' organizations in Saxony. It is considered one of the precursors to the Social Democratic Party of Germany. In the preamble to the Chemnitz program of the Saxon People's Party, they committed themselves to "[...] fighting the enemies of German freedom and unity under all circumstances and in all areas [...]". It called for "[...] the unrestricted right of self-determination of the German people [...]", the promotion of "[...] general prosperity [...]" and "[...] the liberation of work and the workers from any pressure and any bondage [...] ]".
