- Sanford Arms is an American sitcom television series produced as a spin-off and continuation of Sanford and Son, that aired Fridays at 8:00-8:30 PM on NBC from September 16 to October 14, 1977. After six seasons, Redd Foxx left Sanford and Son to star in a variety show for ABC. The producers planned to continue the series with Demond Wilson as Lamont, but Wilson left the project in a dispute over his expected salary as the star of the series. The producers decided to continue the project with a new character. Norman Lear stepped down from his position as executive producer but stayed on as a consultant. (en)
- Sanford Arms è una sitcom statunitense trasmessa dalla NBC nel 1977, con inizio il 16 settembre. Per essere precisi, la serie fu un altro spin-off di un'altra produzione, Sanford and son. Il protagonista, Phil Wheeler, interpretato da , aveva comprato la vecchia casa di Fred, trasferitosi in Arizona con Lamont. Scopo di Phil era creare un hotel. La maggior parte dei personaggi ricorrenti della serie originale hanno recitato anche in questa serie. Grady (Whitman Mayo) ora sposato con la sua ragazza Dolly (che apparve in un episodio della serie originale). Bubba (Don Bexley) ora lavorava al Sanford Arms come fattorino e addetto alla manutenzione. Zia Esther (LaWanda Page) gli era stato dato l'incarico di aiutare Phil e riscuotere le rate del mutuo. A completare il cast c'era la ragazza di Phil, Jeannie. Anche questa serie non perpetuò nessun successo del telefilm di origine (come è accaduto per la serie Grady), e sopravvisse solo un mese con 8 puntate di cui 4 non furono mai mandati in onda, chiudendo i battenti il 14 ottobre 1977. In Italia il telefilm è a tutt'oggi inedito. Il tentativo di continuare una serie popolare senza le i due protagonisti si è rivelato un fallimento. Le valutazioni erano basse e il telefilm è stato cancellato dopo quattro episodi. Quando Redd Foxx tornò in televisione ad interpretare nuovamente come Fred Sanford nel seguito di breve durata Sanford, tra 1980 e 1981, gli eventi del Sanford Arms furono completamente ignorati.
