- El río San Juan / Río Santa Catarina es un río de México, afluente del Río Bravo que discurre por los estados de Nuevo León y Tamaulipas. Es el río más importante del estado de Nuevo León. Nace con el nombre de Río Santa Catarina en la Sierra de Potrero de Abrego en la Comunidad de Ciénega de González en el municipio de Santiago, Nuevo León, recorre un poco más de 100 km de la Sierra Madre Nororiental hasta la represa Rompe Picos, en el municipio de Santa Catarina, atravesando El Cañón de La Huasteca y cruzando la ciudad de Monterrey y su área metropolitana hasta la Presa El Cuchillo en el municipio de China, Nuevo León. En su recorrido el Río Santa Catarina es alimentado por los afluentes de ríos como Río La Silla, Arroyo La Chueca, Río Ramos, Río Pilón, entre otros ríos. Posteriormente de la Presa El Cuchillo el cauce del Río Santa Catarina sigue hasta desembocar en el Río Bravo Río Grande, este último desembocando en el Golfo De México en el Océano Atlántico. (es)
