- Der Nationalrat der Demokratischen Arabischen Republik Sahara (arabisch المجلس الوطني الصحراوي, DMG al-Maǧlis al-Waṭanī aṣ-Ṣaḥrāwī, spanisch Consejo Nacional Saharaui) ist ein Einkammerparlament mit 52 Abgeordneten und Träger der legislativen Gewalt in der Demokratischen Arabischen Republik Sahara (DARS). Als die letzten spanischen Truppen die Spanisch-Sahara verlassen hatten, wurde am 27. Februar 1976 von der Frente Polisario die Demokratische Arabische Republik Sahara auf dem Gebiet der Westsahara ausgerufen und der am 28. November 1975 als Interimsparlament gebildete Nationalrat wurde das Parlament der DARS. Am dritten Allgemeinen Volkskongress der Polisario, im August 1976, wurde die erste Verfassung der DARS angenommen und der erste gewählte Nationalrat formal gebildet. Wegen der marokkanischen Besatzung der Westsahara seit Ende 1975 befindet sich die Regierung (Exilregierung) der DARS in der algerischen Provinz Tindūf, wo auch die meisten saharauischen Flüchtlinge leben. Sitz des Nationalrates ist aber seit einigen Jahren die provisorische Hauptstadt Tifariti auf dem Gebiet der befreiten, östlichen Westsahara. Laut der Verfassung soll das heutige Einparteiensystem der Polisario nach der saharauischen Befreiung der Westsahara automatisch aufhören. (de)
- Le Conseil national sahraoui (CNS, ou encore Conseil national) est la législature du gouvernement en exil de la République arabe sahraouie démocratique. Sa structure et ses compétences sont issues de la Constitution de la République arabe sahraouie démocratique. Son porte-parole est, en 2010, Khatri Addouh. Le Conseil fut créé, à l'origine, par les membres du Front Polisario et les Sahraouis notables en novembre 1975 en tant que Conseil national provisoire après la proclamation de Gueltat Zemmour. Le 27 février 1976, le chef du Polisario El-Ouali Moustapha Sayed annonça que le Conseil avait proclamé la République arabe sahraouie démocratique dont il devint le premier Parlement. Lors du IIIe Congrès général populaire du Polisario (26–30 août 1976), un nouveau Conseil fut établi et nommé Conseil national sahraoui. (fr)

- The Sahrawi National Council (SNC) or Sahrawi Parliament is the legislature of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. Its structure and competences are guided by the Constitution of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR). The present speaker since 2020 is . It was first created by Polisario Front members and Sahrawi tribal notables as the Provisionary National Council in April or November 1975, after the proclamation of Guelta Zemmur. On February 27, 1976, POLISARIO leader El-Ouali Mustapha Sayed announced that the Council had declared the creation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, of which it became the first parliament. On the POLISARIO's III General Popular Congress (August 26–30, 1976), a newly elected membership was formally installed as the Sahrawi National Council. The SNC is a unicameral body, with 53 seats, elected every two years (since the XIII POLISARIO Congress) at the General Popular Congresses by delegates from the Sahrawi refugee camps at Tindouf province, Algeria, supplemented by representatives of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army and the civil society organizations (UJSARIO, UNMS, UGTSARIO). In the last election (2012), 35% of the parliamentarians were women. It usually convenes in Tifariti, at the Liberated Territories of Western Sahara, but on occasion also in the refugee camps. Among the reforms enacted by the SNC is the abolishment of death penalty. In 1999, the SNC caused the fall of then Prime Ministers Mahfoud Ali Beiba government through a motion of no-confidence. The powers of the SNC were substantially expanded in the 1991 constitutional reforms of the SADR, and has since been further enhanced (last in 1999). In its last election (2012), 158 candidates competed for 52 seats in 11 constituencies. (en)

Het parlement ontstond in 1976 na de onafhankelijkheidsverklaring van de Sahrawi Arabische Democratische Republiek. Tot 1975 heette het gebied dat de republiek claimt, Spaanse Sahara. Tegenwoordig staat het bekend onder de naam Westelijke Sahara en wordt het door Marokko bestuurd, dit tot onvrede van de Sahrawi's die het als hun eigen land zien. Omdat de Sahrawi Arabische Democratische Republiek slechts door een beperkt aantal landen wordt erkend en het grootste deel van de Westelijke Sahara wordt gecontroleerd door Marokko is het moeilijk om verkiezingen te houden voor de Nationale Raad. Verkiezingen worden niettemin regelmatig gehouden (de laatste keer in 2012). Omdat een groot deel van de stemgerechtigden Sahrawi buiten de Westelijke Sahara verblijven, te weten in vluchtelingenkampen in Algerije. Gedelegeerden in de kampen kiezen de kandidaten voor de Nationale Raad die allen behoren tot Polisario, de enige partij. Een beperkt aantal stemgerechtigden bevinden zich overigens in de wat Polisario de Vrije zone (Zona Libre) noemt, een landstreek in het oosten van de Westelijke Sahara die door de nationalisten wordt gecontroleerd.
