- Die sächsische Armee war die Armee des Kurfürstentums und späteren Königreichs Sachsen und existierte als stehendes Heer seit 1682. Im Kurfürstentum Sachsen trug die Armee die Bezeichnung kurfürstlich sächsische Armee. Durch die Rangerhebung Sachsens zum Königreich durch Napoleon im Jahre 1807 änderte sich die Bezeichnung der Armee in Königlich Sächsische Armee. Die Armee bildete das sächsische Kontingent in den Kontingentheeren des Deutschen Bundes und des Norddeutschen Bundes und blieb gemäß dem Artikel 63 Absatz 1 der Reichsverfassung vom 16. April 1871 auch im Deutschen Kaiserreich noch rechtlich eigenständig. Infolge der deutschen Niederlage im Ersten Weltkrieg und dem Ende der Monarchie in Sachsen verlor das Land seine eingeschränkte Militärautonomie und die sächsische Armee ging 1919 im Reichsheer der Weimarer Republik auf. В курфюршестве называлась Курфюрстской саксонской армией, с 1807 года — стала Королевской саксонской армией.
