Romorantin is a traditional French variety of white wine grape, that is a sibling of Chardonnay. Once quite widely grown in the Loire, it has now only seen in the . It produces intense, minerally wines somewhat reminiscent of Chablis.

Im Jahr 1519 ließ François I. 80.000 Rebstöcke aus dem Burgund importieren und im heutigen Département Loir-et-Cher auf seinem Gut in Romorantin anpflanzen. Es wurde daher schon lange gemutmaßt, dass die Sorte Romorantin mit der Petit Dannezy identisch ist. Die Sorte ist nahezu ganz verschwunden, da sie sehr anfällig gegen die Rohfäule ist. Sie erbringt daher nur sehr schwankende Erträge. Die Sorte wird heute nur noch in geringen Mengen an der Loire kultiviert. Für Weine aus Romorantin wurde im Jahre 1993 die eigene Appellation Cour-Cheverny innerhalb der Appellation Cheverny geschaffen.
