Road signs in Italy conform to the general pattern of those used in most other European countries, with the notable exception that the background of motorway (autostrada) signs is green and those for 'normal' roads is blue. They are regulated by the Codice della Strada (Road Code) and by the Regolamento di Attuazione del Codice della Strada (Rules for the Implementation of the Road Code) in conformity with the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals.

  • Les panneaux de signalisation routière en Italie sont très variés et ils sont différenciés par leurs couleurs : bleu pour les itinéraires routiers, vert pour les autoroutes, blanc pour les centres-villes. Les zones industrielles sont signalées en lettres jaune sur un fond noir et les sites touristiques sont indiqués en lettres blanches sur un fond marron. Pour les sorties sur autoroute, plusieurs panneaux sont utilisés. Le premier est un panneau vert indiquant le nom de la sortie (généralement la ville la plus proche). Puis un second panneau, bleu, indique les principales villes que l'on peut rejoindre en empruntant la sortie en question. Enfin, deux panneaux sur portique sont placés au début de la voie de décélération.
