- Richard Gary „Rick“ Bowness (* 25. Januar 1955 in Moncton, New Brunswick) ist ein ehemaliger kanadischer Eishockeyspieler und derzeitiger -trainer. Während seiner aktiven Profikarriere spielte der rechte Flügelstürmer in der National Hockey League für die Atlanta Flames, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues und Winnipeg Jets, kam allerdings hauptsächlich in Minor Leagues zum Einsatz. Seit Juli 2022 ist er als Cheftrainer bei den Winnipeg Jets tätig, nachdem er zuvor bereits eine Vielzahl von NHL-Teams als Chef- oder Assistenztrainer betreut hatte, so hält der Kanadier seit 2017 den Rekord für die meisten in diesen Funktionen absolvierten Spiele in der NHL. - Richard Gary Bowness (born January 25, 1955) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bowness played right wing for the Atlanta Flames, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and original Winnipeg Jets and Central Hockey League, American Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams. Bowness has been a head coach for the original Winnipeg Jets, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and the second iteration of the Winnipeg Jets. He has also been an associate coach with the Vancouver Canucks and Tampa Bay Lightning. As of 2022, he is the last active coach in the NHL who was also a head coach for an NHL team in the 1980s, and the first and only coach to have led both iterations of the Winnipeg Jets. (en)
