- El Ferrocarril de Redruth y Chasewater (nombre en inglés: Redruth and Chasewater Railway, también llamado Redruth and Chacewater Railway usando ortografía moderna), fue una de las primeras líneas ferroviarias mineras en Cornualles (Inglaterra, Reino Unido). Se inauguró en 1825 y fue construido para transportar la producción de las minas de cobre del área de a los muelles de (frente al estuario de Fal) alrededor de Devoran, y para traer carbón con el fin de alimentar las máquinas de las minas; más tarde transportó madera para los puntales de los pozos mineros y también carbón para uso doméstico. Con un poco más de 9 millas (14,5 km) de largo, fue construido con un ancho de vía de 4 pies (1219 mm) (de vía estrecha) y usó tracción de caballos al principio y luego locomotoras de vapor. Dependiendo únicamente de la economía de las minas a las que servía, prosperó cuando estas lo hicieron, y cuando declinaron, el ferrocarril también lo hizo. Se cerró finalmente en 1915, y nunca transportó pasajeros. - The Redruth and Chasewater Railway, (otherwise called the Redruth and Chacewater Railway using modern spelling), was an early mineral railway line in Cornwall, England, UK. It opened in 1825 and was built to convey the output from copper mines in the Gwennap area to wharves on Restronguet Creek (off the Fal Estuary) around Devoran, and to bring in coal to fuel mine engines; later it carried timber for pit props and also house coal. A little over 9 miles (14 km) long, it was built to a 4 ft (1,219 mm) narrow gauge and used horse traction at first, later using steam locomotives. Solely dependent on the economy of the mines it served, it prospered when they did, and when they declined, the railway declined too; it finally closed in 1915. It never carried passengers. Much of its route can still be traced, and part of it forms the course of the Redruth and Chasewater Railway Trail, an outdoor leisure facility. (en)
