- Langi oder auch Rangi ist eine Sprache, die im Osten von Tansania gesprochen wird. Der Sprechergruppe gehören etwa 350.000 Sprecher an. Die Sprache gehört zur Gruppe der Bantu-Sprachen. Das Volk, das diese Sprache spricht, nennt sich selbst Rangi. In Tansania ist Suaheli die Verständigungssprache, daneben gibt es noch eine Vielzahl von Stammessprachen. Langi war bis 2006 eine schriftlose Sprache. Erst das Sprachwissenschaftler-Ehepaar Dorothea und Oliver Stegner entwarf ein Zeichensystem für Langi. So kann die Sprache jetzt auch im Unterricht gelehrt werden. Das ist wichtig vor allem für die etwa 150.000 Menschen, die kein Suaheli beherrschen. Das Ehepaar, das vom Summer Institute of Linguistics und der Schwesterorganisation Wycliffe International nach Tansania ausgesandt worden war, übersetzte auch einige Psalmen und Bibeltexte in Langi. Mittlerweile haben Einheimische das Sprachprojekt übernommen. (de)

- Rangi or Langi (there is no distinction between /r/ and /l/; also known as Irangi, Kilaangi, etc.) is a Bantu language of spoken by the Rangi people of Kondoa District in the Dodoma Region of Central Tanzania. Whilst the language is known as Rangi in English and Kirangi in the dominant Swahili spoken throughout the African Great Lakes, the self-referent term is . Estimates at the number of Rangi-speakers range from 270,000 to 410,000 speakers. Rangi is the largest linguistic group in the region. Two main varieties of Rangi are identified - that spoken in the Rangi Highlands (known in Swahili as Irangi ya Juu) and that of the Lowlands (Irangi ya Chini). Despite differences, these varieties are mutually intelligible. However, some dialectal variation is also found between the varieties spoken in the main town of Kondoa, as well as in the surrounding villages of Bereko, Bukulu, Isabe, Humai, Kwadinu, Kolo, Choka, Gubali, Nkuku, Bicha, Kingale, Kelema, Paranga, Kidoka, Haubi and Mondo.
