Rachel Wood FRS is a palaeobiologist, geologist and Professor of Carbonate Geoscience at the University of Edinburgh School of GeoSciences. Her research covers the Ediacaran–Cambrian transition, the origin of biomineralisation, the evolution of reef systems, and carbonate production through time.
