Für Österreich und die Schweiz werden Varianten des Hauptprogramms mit national eingefügten Werbeinseln produziert. RTL Zwei ist in Deutschland der zweite Ableger der RTL Group. Angesiedelt ist das Unternehmen südlich von München in der Gemeinde Grünwald, neben dem Gelände der Bavaria Film; lediglich die Nachrichtenredaktion befindet sich in Köln bei RTL News GmbH, dem Nachrichten- und Magazin-Lieferanten von RTL Deutschland. Dort werden auch unter Verwendung der Produktionstechnik der Kölner die RTL Zwei News produziert, die der Sender von Montag bis Freitag gegen 17 Uhr ausstrahlt. Die sendereigenen Formate von RTL Zwei werden als Auftragsproduktionen von unabhängigen Produzenten erstellt, so zum Beispiel Berlin – Tag & Nacht von der Filmpool Film- und Fernsehproduktion oder Der Trödeltrupp von der Good Times Fernsehproduktions-GmbH. Neben den Auftragsproduktionen hat RTL Zwei Spielfilme und US-amerikanische Serien im Programm. (de)

- RTL II is een commerciële Duitse televisiezender die door RTL2 Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG wordt geëxploiteerd. De onderneming werd in 1992 opgericht en heeft ca. 240 medewerkers in dienst. Andreas Bartl is sinds juni 2014 directeur. De onderneming is ten zuiden van München in de gemeente Grünwald gevestigd. Om mede te kunnen profiteren van de productietechniek van het RTL-nieuws, bevindt alleen de nieuwsredactie zich in Berlijn. RTL II startte op 6 maart 1993 om 6:09 uur met de speelfilm Ein reizender Fratz. Op de uitzendingen van de nieuwsredactie na (RTL II News, Das Nachrichtenjournal) worden de programma’s van de zender als uitbestede producties door onafhankelijke producenten gemaakt. ’s Middags worden eigen producties uitgezonden. W przeciwieństwie do większości niemieckojęzycznych kanałów z tej grupy, nie jest nadawany z Kolonii, lecz z Grünwaldu pod Monachium. Głównym właścicielem stacji jest RTL Group, zaś pozostałymi są Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG, Tele München Fernseh GmbH & Co. Medienbeteiligung KG oraz Burda GmbH. Od początku swego istnienia kojarzony był z bardzo niewybrednym repertuarem, przede wszystkim licznymi programami i filmami erotycznymi. Choć w 2001 roku zaprzestano emisji jakichkolwiek programów erotycznych, opinia ta ciągnie się za stacją do dziś. RTL II ZWEI zasłynął także jako nadawca niemieckich edycji Big Brothera. (pl)
