| - "R.I.P. (Rock In Peace)" is a song by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It is the seventh track of their Australian album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, released in September 1976 (see 1976 in music), and was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott.
"R.I.P. (Rock In Peace)" was dropped from the running order of the international version of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, along with "Jailbreak." The reasons for the omission of "R.I.P. (Rock In Peace)" are unknown. Unlike "Jailbreak," which was released in the United States, Canada, and Japan on AC/DC's '74 Jailbreak in April 1984 (see 1984 in music), "R.I.P. (Rock In Peace)" was never officially released outside Australia.
The song is written from the point of view of a person who wants to be left alone so he can rock 'n' roll. (en)
