Sigue una trama principal separada de todas las demás adaptaciones de Sonic; en esta versión, Sonic tenía dos hermanos, Sonia y Manic, ellos formaban parte de una familia real que se vieron obligados a separarse de su madre, la reina Aleena, una vez que Robotnik toma de control de Mobius debido a una profecía contada por el Oráculo de Delphius. Elle suit les aventures de Sonic le hérisson et de son frère Manic, ainsi que de sa sœur Sonia. La série a été adaptée à partir des jeux vidéo de la franchise Sonic. Elle fut mal accueillie par la critique et fans. En France, la série a été rediffusée sur NT1 à partir du 18 avril 2008 et sur Mangas à partir de 2010, et au Québec à partir du 6 septembre 1999 sur Télétoon. (fr)
- Sonic Underground (French: Sonic Le Rebelle) is an animated television series co-produced by DIC Productions, L.P., Les Studios Tex S.A.R.L. and TF1. It is the third Sonic the Hedgehog animated series, and the last to be produced by DIC. It follows a main plot separate from all other Sonic the Hedgehog media, where Sonic has two siblings, Sonia and Manic, that are collectively part of a royal family who were forced to separate from their mother, Queen Aleena, upon Doctor Robotnik's takeover of Mobius due to a prophecy told by the Oracle of Delphius. Along the way, they encounter other resistance groups against Robotnik as well as powerful artifacts that could wreak havoc on the world, all the while searching for their long-lost mother Queen Aleena. The series first aired in France from January to May 1999 on TF1, and then premiered in the United Kingdom in May 1999 on ITV on the GMTV strand and finally in the United States in the syndicated children's block BKN Kids II from August to October 1999. It also aired on Kids' WB and the Sci-Fi Channel on weekday mornings starting October 1999, lasting until October 2000. The show ran only for one season consisting of forty episodes. It was the first Sonic the Hedgehog television series to be sold on the iTunes Store. (en)

- Sonic Underground (Sonic le rebelle) è una serie animata franco-statunitense prodotta da TF1, DIC Entertainment e che segue le avventure di Sonic the Hedgehog e i suoi fratelli Sonia e Manic. Terza serie televisiva basata sul franchise, che come le precedenti serie animate del riccio blu non è una serie ufficializzata da SEGA come Sonic X e Sonic Boom, ma una versione molto libera che possiede una trama differente da altre serie o videogiochi, e ha tralasciato molti dettagli della serie originale. Sonic, Knuckles e Dr. Robotnik sono gli unici tre personaggi ad apparire anche nei videogiochi, anche se nei videogiochi la versione di quest'ultimo è totalmente diversa a partire dal nome originale usato in Giappone (Eggman). È composta da 40 puntate. In Italia è stata trasmessa su Italia 1 nel 1999 e replicata nel 2005 su Boing e dal 15 ottobre 2012 su Planet Kids. W Polsce premiera serialu nastąpiła 7 września 2007 roku na kanale KidsCo, a od 5 sierpnia 2013 roku powtarzała go TV Puls 2. Przy pierwszej emisji trwającej od 5 sierpnia do 6 września 2013 roku wyemitowano tylko 25 odcinków. Ostatnia emisja na TV Puls 2 zakończyła się 12 listopada 2014 roku tym samym pokazując premierowy 26 odcinek. Od 1 grudnia 2015 roku emituje go Top Kids. W Polsce wyemitowano tylko 26 z 40 odcinków.
