- El Instituto para la calidad del Gobierno (en inglés The Quality of Government Institute, QoG; en sueco Institutet för forskning om korruption och samhällsstyrningens kvalitet, «Instituto de investigaciones sobre la corrupción y la calidad del Gobierno») es un instituto de investigación política de la Universidad de Gotemburgo. El objetivo principal de sus investigaciones es estudiar cómo crear y mantener instituciones políticas de alta calidad. Las investigaciones abordan este problema desde tres vertientes: la teórica —definición de calidad del Gobierno y cómo y bajo qué circunstancias se pueden crear instituciones políticas de alta calidad—, la metodológica —estudios históricamente comparables y estudios a gran escala— y la empírica —recopilar datos dispersos por el mundo y centralizarlos en una base de datos única, mejorar su validez y fiabilidad y relacionarlos con indicadores objetivos y subjetivos de cada país—. El concepto de «calidad del Gobierno» ha ganado popularidad en los últimos años como forma de entender el crecimiento económico y el bienestar social en los países en vías de desarrollo. Desde su fundación en 2004, el Instituto QoG ha reunido continuamente datos relativos a su campo de investigación. Desde 2008, también realizó sus propias encuestas en línea entre expertos de la Administración pública. La información se organiza en bases de datos que se pueden descargar libremente desde su página web. El uso de estos datos está ampliamente extendido en el ámbito de la investigación académica. El Instituto QoG participa en varios proyectos de investigación internacionales. En el periodo 2012-2017, está coordinando una proyecto de gran escala, ANTICORRP, financiado por la Comisión Europea. - The Quality of Government (QoG)-Institute is an independent research institute at the University of Gothenburg. The institute was founded by Professors Bo Rothstein and in 2004 and is partly financed by the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation (Riksbankens Jubileumsfond), the Swedish Science Council (Vetenskapsrådet), and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The main objective the QoG Institute´s research is to address the theoretical and empirical problem of how political institutions of high quality can be created and maintained. Another objective is to study the effects of Quality of Government on a number of policy areas, such as health, the environment, social policy, and poverty. Since its start in 2004, the QoG Institute has continuously gathered various data related to its research field, and today, the institute offers several open-source datasets including both compilation datasets and original datasets, all related to Quality of Government. The compilation datasets are drawn from more than one hundred different sources that deal with topics related to the concepts of Quality of Government. The flagship is the award winning QoG Standard Dataset but the compilation datasets also includes the QoG Basic Dataset, which contains the most frequently used variables of the Standard Dataset, the QoG OECD, which is a regionally specified dataset covering OECD member states, and the EU Regional Data, which consists of approximately 450 variables from Eurostat and other sources, covering three levels of European regions - country, major socio-economic regions and basic regions for the application of regional policies. The original datasets are created by the QoG researchers and focus on concepts related to quality of government, transparency and public administration. The QoG Expert Survey is a dataset based on surveys among experts on public administration around the world, available in an individual dataset and an aggregated dataset covering more than 100 countries. The original datasets also includes the European Quality of Government Index(EQI), which contains information on sub-national governance in Europe from three rounds of a large, pan-European survey on citizen perceptions and experiences with public services. Both micro and sub-national data are provided. Finally, the Swedish Agency database which consists of a comprehensive sample of administrative agencies in the Swedish executive bureaucracy between 1960 and 2014. (en)
- Quality of Government (QoG)-institutet är ett oberoende forskningsinstitut som tillhör Statsvetenskapliga institutionen vid Göteborgs universitet. Institutet grundades 2004 och leds av professorerna Bo Rothstein och Sören Holmberg. Institutets verksamhet finansieras delvis av medel från Knut och Alice Wallenbergs stiftelse, Vetenskapsrådet samt Riksbankens jubileumsfond. Namnet kommer från det engelska begreppet Quality of Government (QoG), vilket på svenska översätts till samhällsstyrningens kvalitet. QoG-institutets forskare bedriver forskning om orsaken till och konsekvenserna av korruption och samhällsstyrningens kvalitet. Forskningen fokuserar i första hand på det teoretiska och empiriska problemet hur politiska institutioner av hög kvalitet kan skapas och upprätthållas samt effekterna av korruption och samhällsstyrningens kvalitet på ett antal olika politikområden såsom till exempel hälsa, miljö, socialpolitik och fattigdom. Antalet forskare knutna till QoG-institutet gör det till ett av världens största forskningscentra inom forskningsområdet. Sedan starten 2004 har QoG-institutet kontinuerligt samlat in data som på olika sätt är kopplat till forskningsområdet. Sedan 2008 har man även genomfört egna webbundersökningar bland experter inom offentlig förvaltning. Idag finns data från 1294 experter från 159 olika länder. All data finns sammanställd i olika databaser och är nedladdningsbar på institutets hemsida. På institutets hemsida finns även datavisualiseringsverktyg som gör det möjligt att skapa interaktiva kartor och spridningsdiagram. Alla vetenskapliga artiklar, rapporter och working papers som producerats av institutets forskare finns tillgängliga för nedladdning på institutets hemsida. (sv)
