- Pretorijská galerie (anglicky Pretoria Art Museum, afrikánsky Pretoriase Kunsmuseum) je galerie umění umístěná v jihoafrické Pretorii. Nachází se v parku Arcadia a zabírá celý městský blok ohraničený ulicemi Park, Wessels, Schoeman a Johann. Základem galerie je městská sbírka umění Pretoria's Art Collection, budovaná od 30. let 20. století. V roce 1932 ji rozšířil dar obrazů z pozůstalosti sira Maxe Michaelise. Těžištěm sbírky byla díla nizozemské školy 17. století. Jihoafrická část sbírky zahrnovala díla Henka Pierneefa, Pietera Wenninga, Franse Oerdera, Antona van Wouwa a Irmy Sternové. Sbírka byla původně umístěna na radnici. Protože jihoafrické galerie v Kapském Městě a Johannesburgu již měla dobré sbírky evropského umění 17., 18. a 19. století, bylo rozhodnuto zaměřit se na sestavení reprezentativní sbírky jihoafrického umění. Proto byly dále získány práce například Pietera Huga Naudého, Maggie Laubserové, Gerarda Sekota, Judith Masonové a dalších. Po smrti sochaře Lucase Sitholea roku 1994 byla získána část jeho odkazu. Od poloviny 90. let se v galerii koná také soutěž New Signatures. (cs)
- The Pretoria Art Museum is an art gallery located in Arcadia, Pretoria in South Africa. The museum in Arcadia Park occupies an entire city block bounded by Park, Wessels, Schoeman and Johann Streets. The Pretoria Art Museum was established to house the City Council of Pretoria's Art Collection, built up since the 1930s. The collection received an early windfall in 1932 when Lady Michaelis bequeathed a large number of artworks to the city council after the death of her husband, Sir Max Michaelis. The collection consisted mainly of 17th-century work of the "North Dutch school",. South African works included pieces by Henk Pierneef, Pieter Wenning, Frans Oerder, Anton van Wouw and Irma Stern. The collection was originally housed in the Town Hall. As South African museums in Cape Town and Johannesburg already had good collections of 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century European art, it was decided to focus on compiling a representative collection of South African art. Aside from these artists, work by Pieter Hugo Naudé, Maggie Laubser and others was acquired. The purchase of international work was focused on more affordable graphics prints from Europe and USA. More recently there was greater emphasis on contemporary South African art and building a more representative historical collection also traditional arts and new-media. After the death of the sculptor Lucas Sithole 1994, half of his unfinished work by Haenggi Foundation was donated to the museum after documented by art historian Elza Miles. The South African collection now includes work by Gerard Sekoto and Judith Mason. Since the mid-1990s, the New Signatures competition is also held at the Pretoria Art Museum. (en)
- Het Pretoriase Kunsmuseum is een kunstmuseum in in de Zuid-Afrikaanse hoofdstad Pretoria. Het museum ligt in het aan de Parkstraat en de Schoemanstraat. Het kunstmuseum is tot stand gekomen met het idee dat de stadsraad van Pretoria zijn kunstcollectie, die ontstond in de jaren dertig van de 20e eeuw, wilde tentoonstellen. Het verschil met kunstmusea in Johannesburg en Kaapstad is dat het kunstmuseum in Pretoria zich vooral richt op Zuid-Afrikaanse kunst, de andere musea hebben een grote collectie Europese kunst. Het gebouw is gemaakt van beton en glas en werd in 1961 gebouwd; de hoeksteen is op 19 oktober 1962 gelegd door eerste minister Hendrik Verwoerd. Het gebouw werd in een tijd van 18 maanden voor 400.000 rand in modernistische Internationale Stijl gebouwd. Het museum is officieel ingehuldigd op 20 mei 1964 door de toenmalige burgemeester van Pretoria, Dr P.J. van der Walt. Tegenwoordig bezit het museum ook een beeldentuin. (nl)
