- Polyscias murrayi est une espèce d'arbre de la famille des araliacées très courant dans les forêts humides de l'est de l'Australie. On le trouve comme espèce de régénération secondaires dans les zones de forêt à reformer, souvent à flanc de coteau. L'arbre est caractéristique par son tronc cylindrique bifurquant brusquement en plusieurs branches etsoutenant une impressionnante voûte sombre. Son aire de répartition naturelle va de la chaîne de Howe, près de la frontière dans l'État du Victoria (37° S) [1], à travers toute la Nouvelle-Galles du Sud et jusqu'à Atherton, dans le Queensland (17° S). On le trouve également en Nouvelle-Guinée. (fr)

- Polyscias murrayi, known as the pencil cedar, is a very common rainforest tree of eastern Australia. It occurs as a secondary regeneration species in disturbed rainforest areas, often on hillsides. The tree is identified by cylindrical trunk; abruptly forking into many branches, and supporting an impressive dark canopy. Other common names include the umbrella tree, white basswood and pencilwood. The range of natural distribution is from the Howe Range, just over the border in the state of Victoria (37° S), up through New South Wales and to Atherton, Queensland (17° S).
