- Náměstí Flagey (francouzsky Place Eugène Flagey, nizozemsky Flageyplein) je náměstí v jihovýchodní části belgické metropole Bruselu. Administrativně je součástí obce Ixelles, která spadá pod Bruselský region. Náměstí nese název podle starosty Ixelles, . Náměstí se nachází na pomyslné příčce mezi Evropským parlamentem (parkem Leopold) a Ixelleskými rybníky. Celkem do sebe propojuje celkem deset ulic z okolních čtvrtí a je tak jednou z významnějších dopravních křižovatek belgické metropole. Dlouhou dobu se jmenovalo podle nedalekého hospicu Svatého kříže (francouzsky Place Saint Croix). Na náměstí byl v roce 1957 otevřen první vícepatrový obchodní dům v Belgii.[zdroj?] Náměstí, jehož dominantním objektem je , sloužilo dlouho jen jako parkoviště a zastávka. V roce 2008 byla provedena jeho rozsáhlá rekonstrukce, která byla dlouho odkládána, především kvůli protestům místních obyvatel. Namísto parkoviště vznikla pěší zóna a původní parkoviště bylo přesunuto do podzemí. Pod podzemním parkovištěm se nachází podzemní rezervoár vody vzhledem k riziku možných záplav (náměstí se nachází velmi nízko v porovnání s okolním terénem a je zde vysoká hladina spodní vody). (cs)

With ten streets converging there, the Place Flagey is one of the best connected crossroads in the city, directly adjacent to the neighbouring Ixelles Ponds. Until 1937, the square was known as the Place Sainte-Croix/Heilig-Kruisplein, but this name only now applies to the square in front of the Church of the Holy Cross on the south-western corner. The Flagey Building, also known as the Maison de la Radio, is a remarkable Art Deco building, the former headquarters of the Belgian National Institute of Radio Broadcasting, and now houses Le Flagey cultural centre. Prende il suo nome da Eugène Flagey, avvocato, deputato e primo magistrato/borgomastro d'Ixelles dal 1936 al 1956 (come per altro Emile Duray, Armand Huysman, Raymond Blyckaerts, Adolphe Buyl, Fernand Cocq). L'attuale Place Flagey era precedentemente chiamata 'Place Sainte-Croix (limitatamente oggi allo spiazzo della Chiesa ed alle prossimità dello stagno) che faceva riferimento all'Ospizio della Sainte-Croix situato, come la sua cappella alla fine dell'attuale Rue de Vergnies, e dove i facchini che arrivavano dalla a Bruxelles potevano riposarsi e consumare la colazione prima di affrontare la forte pendenza della Chaussée d'Ixelles. Un lato della piazza è occupato da condomini con esercizi commerciali al piano terra. Per esempio la Victory House, edificio di edilizia popolare, chiamato anche Le Foyer Ixellois. Il nome di Victory House viene dal fatto che le truppe alleate lo riconquistarono nel 1945. La piazza servì in numerose occasioni per l'ascensione di aerostati. Davanti alla Maison de la Radio, la catena della grande distribuzione Delhaize aprì nel 1956 il primo supermercato self-service d'Europa, tuttora presente. Dopo alcuni decenni di continui lavori, la nuova Place Flagey è stata inaugurata ufficialmente il sabato 5 luglio 2008. Al centro dell'aiuola che funge da isola pedonale è stato collocato un busto dedicato al poeta portoghese Fernando Pessoa. (it)

- Het Flageyplein (Frans: Place Flagey) is een groot plein en het historische hart van de Brusselse gemeente Elsene. Het is genoemd naar de Brusselse advocaat, burgemeester en volksvertegenwoordiger Eugène Flagey. De naam van het plein werd en wordt ook soms gebruikt als aanduiding van het aldaar tussen 1934 en 1939 aan de zuidzijde van het plein opgetrokken omroepgebouw van het Nationaal Instituut voor de Radio-omroep. Het plein grenst aan de overgebleven vijvers van Elsene, en werd aangelegd op een in 1860 gedempt vijverbekken van de voornoemde vijvers. Het Eugène Flageyplein is een knooppunt van heel wat Brusselse verkeersassen en eveneens een knooppunt van het Brussels openbaar vervoer. Onder meer de Vleurgatsteenweg, de Lesbroussartstraat, de Elsenesteenweg, de Malibranstraat, de Brouwerijstraat, de Boondaalsesteenweg en de Gulden Sporenlaan monden uit op het plein. De omgeving van het plein kende al in de 13e eeuw bewoning. Het gehucht Neder-Elsene dat hier ontstond hield veel langer stand tegen de verfransing en de urbanisatiegolf waar Opper-Elsene veel vroeger reeds mee geconfronteerd werd. Naast het omroepgebouw aan de zuidzijde bevindt zich aan de noordzijde ook een historische site. De allereerste supermarkt met volledige zelfbediening van België, een Delhaize, opende hier op 18 december 1957 zijn deuren en is tot heden ook hier gevestigd. Onder het plein werd bij een renovatie die liep van 2002 tot 2008 een groot overstromingswachtbekken en een ondergrondse parkeergarage met 186 plaatsen aangelegd. Het bekken is een noodzaak gegeven de ligging in het dal van de Maalbeek en de hoge grondwaterspiegel in de omgeving. De parking leed in 2008 nog aan constructiefouten en waterinsijpelingsproblemen maar ging 15 november 2010 uiteindelijk open. (nl)
