V žebříčku časopisu Rolling Stone the 500 greatest albums of all time dosáhlo 70. příčky. Po téměř dvouleté přestávce se Led Zeppelin vrátili na scénu s tímto dvojalbem, které na rozdíl o těch předchozích nepůsobí tak jednolitým dojmem. Každá ze skladeb má svůj specifický styl, který je často velmi odlišný od těch ostatních. Můžeme zde nalézt jak orientální hudbou ovlivněnou píseň "Kashmir", téměř diskotékovou záležitost "Trampled Under Foot", pop-rockový song "Houses of the Holy" nebo countryový ploužák "Down By the Seaside". Ty jsou společně s hard-rockovými věcmi ("In My Time of Dying", "Custard Pie", "The Rover") soustředěny na první části alba, zatímco druhá obsahuje studiové experimenty, jamy a předělávky vlastních skladeb. - Physical Graffiti is the sixth studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released as a double album on 24 February 1975 by the group's new record label, Swan Song Records. The band wrote and recorded eight new songs for the album in early 1974 at Headley Grange, a country house in Hampshire, which gave them ample time to improvise arrangements and experiment with recording. The total playing time covered just under three sides of an LP, so they decided to expand it into a double by including previously unreleased tracks from the sessions for the earlier albums Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy. The album covered a range of styles including hard rock, progressive rock, rock 'n' roll and folk. The album was then mixed over summer 1974 and planned for an end-of-year release; however, its release was delayed because the Peter Corriston-designed die-cut album cover proved difficult to manufacture. Physical Graffiti was commercially and critically successful upon its release and debuted at number one on album charts in the UK and number three in the US. It was promoted by a successful US tour and a five-night residency at Earl's Court, London. The album has been reissued on CD several times, including an expansive 40th anniversary edition in 2015. - Physical Graffiti är rockbandet Led Zeppelins sjätte studioalbum, ett dubbelalbum släppt den 24 februari 1975. Albumet kom efter nästan två års tystnad från bandet och var ett av de första som släpptes på det egna bolaget Swan Song Records. Physical Graffiti var egentligen planerat att vara ett enkelalbum (de nya låtarna spelades in 1974), men gruppen tog med några låtar som blivit över från de tidigare albumen vilket resulterade i ett dubbelalbum. Vissa låtar som är med på skivan, till exempel "Bron-Yr-Aur" och "Boogie with Stu" spelades in 1970-1971 då man spelade in material till skivorna Led Zeppelin III och IV. Låten "Houses of the Holy" fick ge namn åt gruppens förra album, och spelades också in inför det men kom istället med på det här albumet. (sv)
