Phitsanulok provincial and local government are the administrative bodies for Phitsanulok province (Thai: พิษณุโลก, Thai pronunciation: [pʰít.sā.nú.lôːk]), one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces, which lies in lower northern Thailand, with a population of 865,247 (2019 census). The provincial capital is the city of Phitsanulok, where the main government offices are situated. The province is mainly rural in nature, with 68.2% of inhabitants living in the countryside, with only 31.8% in small towns and cities, most of which have populations of less than 15,000. Agriculture is the most important sector of the economy, contributing 28% of GPP and employing 42% of the labour force, with sugar cane, rice, cassava and maize being the main crops, alongside a wide variety of fruit and vegetables.
