- Parvocellular neurosecretory cells are small neurons within paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus. The axons of the parvocellular neurosecretory cells of the PVN project to the median eminence, at the base of the brain, where their neurosecretory nerve terminals release peptides into blood vessels in the hypothalamo-pituitary portal system. The blood vessels carry the peptides to the anterior pituitary gland, where they regulate the secretion of hormones into the systemic circulation. (en)

Os axônios das células neurossecretoras parvocelulares projetam-se para a eminência mediana, na base do cérebro, onde seus terminais nervosos neurossecretores liberam peptídeos nos vasos sanguíneos no sistema portal hipotálamo-hipófise. - Мелкие нейросекреторные клетки (англ. parvocellular cells) — это нейроны относительно небольшого размера, расположенные в нескольких ядрах гипоталамуса и образующие мелкоклеточную нейросекреторную систему, регулирующую выделение гормонов передней долей гипофиза. Этих клеток больше всего в паравентрикулярном и (дугообразном) ядрах гипоталамуса. Аксоны мелких нейросекреторных клеток паравентрикулярного и аркуатного ядра проецируются на в области серого бугра и выделяют пептиды в капиллярную сеть гипоталамо-гипофизарной системы. В области этих капилляров гематоэнцефалический барьер обладает повышенной проницаемостью, и гормоны и метаболиты из крови могут достигать клеток гипоталамуса и модулировать их секрецию. По коротким и длинным венам портальной системы пептиды попадают в диффузную капиллярную сеть передней доли гипофиза, где они ингибируют или стимулируют секрецию гормонов целевыми клетками. (ru)
