Panos H. Koutras (Greek: Πάνος Χ. Το 2009 δημιούργησε τη Στρέλλα, μία ιδιαίτερη και τολμηρή ταινία, που προκάλεσε αίσθηση στο κοινό και στους κριτικούς, καθώς καταπιανόταν με ένα θέμα ταμπού της ελληνικής κοινωνίας, τα τρανς άτομα. Τη σεζόν 2013-14 σκηνοθέτησε από κοινού με τη Χριστιάνα Τρύφωνος την κυπριακή σειρά Όνειρο ήταν, που προβλήθηκε από τον τηλεοπτικό σταθμό Mega Κύπρου. To 2014 σκηνοθέτησε την ταινία Ξενία, την πρώτη του ταινία με διεθνή αναγνωρισιμότητα. Αυτή η ταινία διαγωνίστηκε στο τμήμα Ένα κάποιο βλέμμα και ήταν υποψήφια για το βραβείο Queer Palm στο 67ο φεστιβάλ των Καννών. Σε μία συνέντευξή του στην εφημερίδα Libération ανέφερε ότι είναι γκέι ακτιβιστής και αριστερός καλλιτέχνης, με κουλτούρα διαμορφωμένη από δημιουργούς όπως ο Προυστ και ο Γουάιλντ, ο Φασμπίντερ και ο Βισκόντι.
