- Le Labyrinthe de Pan (El laberinto del fauno) est un film de fantasy hispano-mexicain écrit, produit et réalisé par Guillermo del Toro, sorti en 2006. Le film se déroule un peu après la guerre d'Espagne et son personnage principal, la jeune Ofelia, se voit désignée par un faune comme la princesse d'un monde souterrain. Elle doit réussir trois épreuves pour le regagner tandis que sa mère, enceinte, est de plus en plus malade et que son beau-père, le cruel capitaine Vidal, traque la guérilla anti-franquiste de la région. L'histoire est une parabole inspirée par les contes de fées dans laquelle del Toro explore des thèmes qu'il avait déjà évoqués dans L'Échine du Diable (2001). Les traductions en français et en anglais du titre du film font référence au dieu Pan mais del Toro a précisé que ces traductions étaient inexactes et que le faune du film n'avait aucun rapport avec le dieu Pan. Tourné dans la sierra de Guadarrama en 2005, le film a été présenté pour la première fois au festival de Cannes 2006 et a été à sa sortie très bien accueilli par le public et la critique. Inizialmente era previsto un terzo film intitolato 3993 (in riferimento agli anni 1939 e 1993, due anni che avrebbero avuto un grande significato nel film dato che la storia era destinata a ruotare attorno all'apertura delle tombe della guerra civile, e doveva ancora una volta essere completamente in spagnolo); il progetto venne poi abbandonato per concentrarsi su Hellboy: The Golden Army.
