- Els opistopròctids (Opisthoproctidae) són una família de peixos teleostis de l'ordre Osmeriformes, coneguts com a peixos follet. Estan distribuïts pels oceans Pacífic, Atlàntic i Índic. El seu nom procedeix del grec opisthe (per darrere de) + proktos (anus). Normalment tenen els ulls de forma tubular; les aletes pectorals les tenen inserides en el lateral en posició baixa; algunes espècies amb aleta adiposa en el dors; de vegades presenten ; la majoria no presenten . - السمك ذو الرأس الشفاف (Opisthoproctidae) ومنه سمكة عيون البرميل أو الباريلاي (Barreleye fish)، والتي تُعرف أيضًا باسم سمكة الشبح (spook fish) (وهو اسم ينطبق على العديد من أنواع سمك (chimaera)، هي سمكة صغيرة تنتمي لرتبة (argentiniform) ومن ضمن هذه الفصيلة . وتوجد هذه السمكة في المياه المرتفعة إلى معتدلة الحرارة التي يتميز بهامحيط والهادئ والمحيط الهندي. وسميت هذه الأسماك بهذا الاسم (Barreleyes) نظرًا لشكل عيونها البرميلي التي يتم توجيهها عمومًا للأعلى لاكتشاف الصور الظِلّية للفريسة الموجودة، ومع ذلك نجد أن هذه الأسماك تتمتع بالقدرة على توجيه عيونها للأمام أيضًا وفقًا لما توصل إليه كل من روبنسون (Robison) وريزينبيلشر (Reisenbichler). وتم اشتقاق اسم فصيلة متأخرات الخصية من اليونانية كلمة opisthe ("خلف") وproktos ("فتحة الشرج").
