Jahrhundert bis zum Bau der neuen Kathedrale von Bragança Bischofssitz der Diözese Bragança-Miranda. Im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert wurde die Kirche unter den Jesuiten im Stil des Barock umgestaltet. Der Kreuzgang ist im Stil der Renaissance erhalten. Im Jahr 2012 wurde die Kirche einschließlich Kreuzgang zum Monumento de Interesse Público erklärt. (de)

El templo fue construido en el siglo XVI tener las funciones de un convento. En 1764, con el traslado de la sede de la diócesis de Braganza a Miranda do Douro, el edificio se convirtió en la catedral diocesana. Con la inauguración de la nueva catedral en 2001, el templo se convirtió en una iglesia parroquial. El templo está dedicado al Santo Nombre de Jesús y San Juan Bautista. The temple was built in the sixteenth century have the functions of a convent.
