- عملية ضرب عضب هي عملية عسكرية مشتركة تقوم بها القوات المسلحة الباكستانية ضد جماعات مسلحة متعددة، منها حركة طالبان باكستان، تنظيم القاعدة، وشبكة حقاني. بدأت القوات المسلحة الباكستانية العملية العسكرية في الخامس عشر من شهر يونيه عام 2014 في شمال وزیرستان كمحاولة لاحتواء الجماعات الإرهابية المتنامية في المنطقة خصوصاً بعد الهجوم على مطار جناح الدولي في الثامن من يونيه. حازت العملية على تأييد واسع من كل قطاعات الدولة. كما أطلقت أثنتان من أكبر الجماعات الدينية الإسلامية في باكستان فتوى تصف العملية بأنها جهاد في مواجهة الإرهاب. - L’opération Zarb-e-Azb (ourdou : آپریشن ضربِ عضب, Āpres̱ẖan Ẓarb-i ʿAẓb, du nom d'une épée utilisée par le prophète Mahomet aux batailles de Badr et de Uhud) est une offensive menée par les forces armées pakistanaises à partir du 15 juin 2014 au Waziristan du Nord (près de la frontière afghane) contre des groupes insurgés armés affiliés à Al-Qaïda tels que le Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, le Parti islamique du Turkestan, le Mouvement islamique d'Ouzbékistan et le réseau Haqqani. Impliquant près de 30 000 soldats (14 000 à 20 000 soldats étant déployés dans la région en temps normal), elle a été déclenchée en réponse à l'attentat de l'aéroport international Jinnah le 8 juin 2014 ayant fait 36 morts (dont 10 terroristes) et 18 blessés, revendiqué par le TTP et le MIO. The operation was launched on 15 June 2014 in North Waziristan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as a renewed effort against militancy in the wake of the 8 June attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, for which the TTP and the IMU claimed responsibility. As of 14 July 2014, the operation internally displaced about 929,859 people belonging to 80,302 families from North Waziristan. Part of the war in North-West Pakistan, up to 30,000 Pakistani soldiers were involved in Zarb-e-Azb, described as a "comprehensive operation" to flush out all foreign and local militants hiding in North Waziristan. The operation has received widespread support from the Pakistani political, defence and civilian sectors. As a consequence, the overall security situation improved and terrorist attacks in Pakistan dropped to a six-year low since 2008.
