Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン 鋼鉄のガールフレンド2nd, Shin Seiki Evangelion Kōtetsu no Gārufurendo 2nd) is a manga by Fumino Hayashi based on an original story Gainax-Khara. It is an adapation of the video game Girlfriend of Steel 2, and dramatizes the actions of the Instrumentality from the final episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which featured the show's cast in a high school romantic comedy in contrast to the dark, apocalyptic themes of the television show. It was serialized in Japan by Kadokawa Shoten in Monthly Asuka from 2003 to 2005 and collected in 6 bound volumes.

  • A new transfer student, Rei, starts at the school. Rei takes a liking to Shinji and confides her feelings to Asuka. (en)
  • Gendo's life as a troubled junior high student frequently involved in fights is chronicled. His relationship with a young Yui, his meetings with the enigmatic Kaworu, and how their lives change is detailed. (en)
