- نينا بيتي شوارتز (بالإنجليزية: Neena Schwartz) (10 كانون الأول 1926 - 15 نيسان 2018) كانت أميركية مختصة في الغدد الصماء وأستاذة فخرية في الغدد الصماء في قسم ويليام ديرينغ للأمراض العصبية بجامعة نورث وسترن.. كانت معروفة بفضل عملها في مجال البيولوجيا التناسلية للإناث وتنظيم مسارات الإشارات الهرمونية، بشكل خاص لاكتشاف هرمون الإشارة المانع (انهيبن). كانت شوارتز مدافعة نشطة عن حقوق المرأة في العلوم طوال حياتها المهنية. كانت عضوًا مؤسسًا في جمعية للنساء في هيئة العلوم عام 1971 وشاركت في الإشراف التأسيسي مع جوديث بول. شاركت أيضاً في تأسيس مجموعة «نساء في الغدد الصماء» تحت رعاية جمعية الغدد الصماء، وخدمت كرئيسة لجمعية الغدد الصماء وجمعية لدراسة الإنجاب، وتم الاعتراف بها لإرشادها الاستثنائي للعلماء النساء. في عام 2010، كتبت مذكرات عن حياتها في العلوم، مختبري الخاص، والتي ظهرت فيها كمثلية. - Neena Betty Schwartz (nascuda el 10 de desembre de 1926) és una endocrinòloga americana i Professora Emèrita William Deering d'Endocrinologia al Departament de Neurobiologia de la Universitat Northwestern. És coneguda sobre tot pel seu treball en la biologia reproductiva de les dones i la regulació hormonal de les vies de comunicació cel·lular, en particular pel descobriment de l'hormona de senyalització inhibina. Schwartz ha estat una activa feminista defensora de les dones en la ciència al llarg de la seva carrera; va ser membre fundadora de l'Associació per les dones a la Ciència, organització creada el 1971 on va compartir la presidència fundacional amb . She was best known for her work on female reproductive biology and the regulation of hormonal signaling pathways, particularly for the discovery of the signaling hormone inhibin. Schwartz was an active feminist advocate for women in science throughout her career; she was a founding member of the Association for Women in Science organization in 1971 and shared the founding presidency with Judith Pool. She also co-founded the Women in Endocrinology group under the auspices of the Endocrine Society, served terms as the president of the Endocrine Society and the Society for the Study of Reproduction, and was recognized for her exceptional mentorship of women scientists. In 2010, she published a memoir of her life in science, A Lab of My Own, in which she came out as lesbian. (en)
