- El monestir de Sant Daniel es troba al barri de Sant Daniel, molt prop del centre de la ciutat de Girona. L'edifici és declarat Bé Cultural d'Interès Nacional. El cenobi de la comunitat de monges benedictines del Monestir de Sant Daniel de Girona es fundà el 1015 a partir de la venda de l'alou de Sant Daniel a la comtessa Ermessenda i el seu espòs, el comte Ramon Borrell. El 2015 aquesta entitat va rebre la Creu de Sant Jordi "per a ser l'única benedictina femenina de Catalunya que resideix al mateix lloc on va néixer, integrada el 2015 per set monges que compten amb un ampli suport social i promouen el paper del monestir com a referent de patrimoni i impulsor de cultura". - The Monastery of San Daniel (Catalan: Monestir de Sant Daniel) is a religious complex in Girona, Catalonia, northern Spain. It was founded in the early 11th century by will of countess Ermesinde of Carcassonne, who wanted to found a nunnery here. The church, based on that of the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, with the addition of a transept, was later renewed. It has a cloister with two floors, the lower from the 13th century (with Romanesque decorations) and the upper, in Gothic style, from the 15th century. It has double columns with Corinthian capitals. Artworks include the sepulchre of St. Daniel, whose remains, according to the tradition, were brought here from Arles. It dates to 1345 and was executed by sculptor Aloi de Montbrai.
