- Der Mitropa Rally Cup ist eine jährlich stattfindende internationale Rallyeveranstaltung, die auch als "Rallye-Europameisterschaft der Privatfahrer" bezeichnet wird. Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1965 nehmen Fahrer an den Rennen in verschiedenen Ländern Europas teil, um dabei Punkte für den Pokalsieg zu sammeln. - The Mitropa Rally Cup is an international annual car racing event termed the "European Championship for Non-Professional Drivers”. Established in 1965, drivers participate in races in several countries collecting points to determine the cup winner. The series is organised by the Deutscher Motor Sport Bund and takes place in countries all across Europe. The point score system is loaded so that drivers have the potential to score more points in rallies held in nations more distant from their home country making them able to score more points in rallies they are less likely to be familiar with it. The championship is frequently held over six to eight events. The series has been dominated by German and Italian drivers. The most successful driver in the series history is German driver Hermann Gassner Sr. who has won the title six times between 2001 and 2015, all while driving Mitsubishi Lancers. Another German driver, Matthias Moosleitner won the title six times between 1984 and 2000. The event is not to be confused with the Mitropa Cup, a soccer competition. (en)
- La Mitropa Rally Cup (ou Coupe centro-européenne des rallyes) est une compétition de rallyes disputée annuellement entre l'Allemagne, la République tchèque, l'Autriche, l'Italie, et la Slovénie (autrefois aussi la Pologne et l'ex-Yougoslavie). Elle est désormais réservée à des pilotes non professionnels. Une Coupe des Nations a également été créée en 1979 (l'Allemagne l'a remportée à 21 reprises, devant l'Italie 8 fois), ainsi qu'une Coupe Challenge en 1973. Une formulation "Historic" existe également. (nb : l'absence de copilote noté signifie que plusieurs se sont succédé durant la saison) Remarques :
* Sandro Munari remporte la Coupe FIA des conducteurs 6 ans plus tard, en 1977 ;
* Raffaele "Lele" Pinto remporte le Championnat d'Europe des rallyes la même année, en 1972 ;
* Armin Schwarz le remporte dix ans plus tard, en 1996 ;
* Franz Wittmann est vice-champion d'Europe en 1978 ; Gianmarino Zenere l'est en 1997 (ainsi qu'en catégorie Formule 2 des rallyes européens la même année) ;
* Fabrizia Pons est vice-champion du monde, avec Michèle Mouton pour pilote, en 1982 ;
* Wielfried Gass remporte le rallye Semperit (le plus important d'Autriche) à 3 reprises, en 1966, 1967, et 1970 ;
* Walter-Heinz Rhomberg (1er vainqueur de la Cup - Directeur de la firme Walter Rhomberg Baumeister du groupe industriel international Rhomberg en 1972) et Horst Ferner remportent le rallye Bodensee-Neusiedlersee (le rallye Semperit) en 1965 ; Jürgen Säckl celui de Hesse avec Günther Wallrabenstein en 1969 ;
* Horst Rack a été le copilote de Hans-Joachim Walter (champion d'Europe 1961) à la fin des années 1960 ;
* Une version "Historic" de la Mitropa Cup existe depuis 2005 ;
* L'Euro-Rallye-Trophée, compétition elle aussi dédiée à des pilotes amateurs, se situe dans une aire européenne plus au nord-ouest. (fr)

La serie è organizzata dalla federazione automobilistica tedesca (DMSB). La serie è stata dominata da piloti tedeschi e italiani. Il pilota di maggior successo nella storia della serie è il tedesco Hermann Gassner Sr. che ha vinto sette volte tra il 2001 e il 2022, il pilota italiano più vittorioso è il friulano Claudio De Cecco che ha vinto 3 volte nel 1996, 2004 e 2005. Nel 1979 viene istituita la Mitropa Rally Nations Cup, la classifica viene calcolata sommando i punti dei primi 3 concorrenti di ogni nazione. (it)
