- Misanthropy Records était une maison de disque anglaise de black metal. Fondée en 1993 par Tiziana Stupia; qui avant cela, avait contacté plusieurs label indépendant mais qui refusaient tous de publier l’œuvre d'un meurtrier. En effet, après l'assasinat d'Øystein Aarseth par Count Grishnackh en août 1993 , aucun label (Candlelight Records, Earache Records) ne souhaitait travailler avec lui. Elle signe donc un contrat avec le comte Grishnackh s'engageant à sortir et ressortir les quatre album de Burzum enregistré en 1992 et 1993. Puisque de son côté, il était compliqué de gérer la distribution de ses disques au moment de son emprisonnement. L'entreprise a fermé en 2000, Stupia préférant se concentrer sur sa carrière de prêtresse païenne. Désormais, elle s'appelle « Prem Srila » et a écrit un livre du nom de Meeting shiva. (fr)

Misanthropy Records wydało łącznie trzy płyty Burzum. Wytwórnia została rozwiązana w 2000 roku. Jako powód, założycielka podała chęć skoncentrowania się na obowiązkach kapłanki wicca. Część katalogu Misanthropy Records przejęło Candlelight Records. Wytwórnia wydawała także albumy grup: Arcturus, , Fleurety, In the Woods..., Katatonia, Madder Mortem, Mayhem, , Primordial, Solstice oraz Ved Buens Ende. (pl)
