- Milton Bruce „Milt“ Ottey (* 29. Dezember 1959 in May Pen) ist ein ehemaliger kanadischer Hochspringer jamaikanischer Herkunft. 1979 gewann er Bronze bei den Panamerikanischen Spielen in San Juan und 1982 Gold bei den Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. Bei den Leichtathletik-Weltmeisterschaften 1983 in Helsinki wurde er Neunter und bei den Olympischen Spielen 1984 in Los Angeles Sechster. 1986 gelang ihm die Titelverteidigung bei den Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, und 1987 wurde er Siebter bei den Leichtathletik-Hallenweltmeisterschaften in Indianapolis. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1988 in Seoul schied er in der Qualifikation aus. 1990 schloss er seine internationale Karriere mit einer Bronzemedaille bei den Commonwealth Games in Auckland ab. - Milton Bruce "Milt" Ottey (born December 29, 1959 in May Pen, Clarendon, Jamaica) is a retired Canadian high jumper. Ottey came to Canada at the age of 10 years. He attended and graduated from high school in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). He received a full athletic scholarship from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he received his bachelor's degree in education. After retiring from active competition, Ottey spent several years coaching at various universities throughout the United States, including University of Texas at El Paso, Kent State University and University of New Mexico before moving back to Toronto, Ontario. The number one ranked high jumper in the world in 1982 and the twenty three times indoor and outdoor national champion in the men's high jump event, Ottey is the owner and director OT Fitness Educational Services, inc. Ottey took over the reins of the UK kids core skills development program International Fun and Team Athletics (IFTA) in Canada. OT Fitness provide programs in schools that promote health and fitness to assist in the core skills development of children and teens. OT Fitness looks at the obstacles to a healthy lifestyle and helps kids jump over them, crawl under them, run around them and tackle them head on. Ottey resides in Scarbough with his wife and three children. He is a cousin of nine-time Olympic medallist Merlene Ottey. (en)

Zajął 7. miejsce na halowych mistrzostwach świata w 1987 w Indianapolis. Odpadł w kwalifikacjach na igrzyskach olimpijskich w 1988 w Seulu. Zdobył brązowy medal (ex aequo z Geoffem Parsonsem) na igrzyskach Wspólnoty Narodów w 1990 w Auckland, za Clarence’em Saundersem i Daltonem Grantem z Anglii. Był mistrzem Kanady w skoku wzwyż w latach 1979, 1981–1984 i 1986–1988, wicemistrzem w 1980 i 1985 oraz brązowym medalistą w 1991. Był także mistrzem Wielkiej Brytanii w 1985 oraz akademickim mistrzem Stanów Zjednoczonych (NCAA) w 1982. Trzykrotnie poprawiał rekord Kanady do wyniku 2,33 m (21 czerwca 1986 w Ottawie). Był to również najlepszy wynik w jego karierze. Rekord życiowy Otteya w hali wynosił 2,31 m (uzyskany 5 marca 1986 w Kobe). Jest kuzynem lekkoatletki Merlene Ottey. (pl)
