- قناة البحر المتوسط - البحر الميت (بالإنجليزية: Mediterranean–Dead Sea canal أو اختصارًا MDSC) هو مشروع مقترح لحفر قناة تمتد من الشواطئ الشرقية للبحر الأبيض المتوسط حتى البحر الميت، حيث بالإمكان إستغلال الفرق في منسوب المياه بين البحرين، والبالغ 400 متر تقريبًا. كان مخططًا لهذا المشروع أن يرفع من منسوب البحر الميت، وأن يقلل من الانخفاض به. كما كان من المفترض أن يُستخدم لتوليد الطاقة الكهرومائية بسبب اختلاف منسوب السطح، وربما عن طريق الطاقة الإسموزية، بالإضافة إلى تحلية المياه عبر التناضح العكسي. - The Mediterranean–Dead Sea Canal (MDSC) is a proposed project to dig a canal from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea, taking advantage of the 400-metre difference in water level between the seas. The project could correct the drop in the level of the Dead Sea observed in recent years. The canal could also be used to generate hydroelectric power because of surface difference and maybe by salinity gradient power, and desalinate water by reverse osmosis. (en)
