- Der Canalis mandibulae (von lat. canna „Rohr“ und mandibula, von mandere „kauen“) (Mandibularkanal) ist ein Kanal im Unterkieferkörper, der am Foramen mandibulae beginnt und am Foramen mentale endet. Er berührt normalerweise nicht die Zahnwurzeln, kann aber im distalen Bereich von ihnen umfasst werden. In ihm verlaufen die Vena und Arteria alveolaris inferior und der Nervus alveolaris inferior (aus dem Nervus mandibularis, 3. Ast des Nervus trigeminus). Auf Grund der sensiblen Versorgung der Unterlippen durch diesen Nerven ist der Verlauf des Manidubularkanals insbesondere vor Weisheitszahnentfernungen und Implantationen im Unterkiefer sorgfältig abzuklären.

- In human anatomy, the mandibular canal is a canal within the mandible that contains the inferior alveolar nerve, inferior alveolar artery, and . It runs obliquely downward and forward in the ramus, and then horizontally forward in the body, where it is placed under the alveoli and communicates with them by small openings. On arriving at the incisor teeth, it turns back to communicate with the mental foramen, giving off a small canal known as the mandibular incisive canal, which run to the cavities containing the incisor teeth. It carries branches of the inferior alveolar nerve and artery. It is continuous with the mental foramen (which opens onto front of mandible) and mandibular foramen (on medial aspect of ramus). (en)

Il est en continuité en haut avec le foramen mandibulaire et en bas avec le foramen mentonnier. Au sein de la portion horizontale de la mandibule il est situé sous les racines dentaires, parfois en rapport étroit avec ces dernières.
