- Luís Cristóvão dos Santos (* 25. Dezember 1916 in Pesqueira, Brasilien; † 30. Juni 1997 in Recife, Brasilien) war ein brasilianischer Soziologe, Anthropologe, Folklorist, Kolumnist, Schriftsteller, Jurist und Journalist. Er studierte in Pesqueira und in Recife und schloss sein Studium 1944 mit einem Bachelor in Rechtswissenschaft und Sozialwissenschaften an der ab. Er war nach seinem Studium Staatsanwalt in verschiedenen Bezirken des Hinterlandes von Pernambuco. In den 1950er-Jahren war er Chef der Zeitung Gazeta do Pajeú. Von 1947 an war er Delegat der União Democrática Nacional und wurde auch zu deren stellvertretendem Vorsitzenden gewählt. 1955 war er Kandidat der Linken für den Vize-Präfekten der Stadt Arcoverde. Er war am kulturellen und politischen Leben Pernambucos beteiligt. Nach dem frühen Tod eines Kindes zog er sich zurück. Schon seit seiner Jugend war dos Santos Schriftsteller. Darüber hinaus war er journalistisch tätig, unter anderem schrieb er für , , und das und einige weitere brasilianische Medien. Er trug auch zu mehreren Büchern, Dokumentationen und Filmreportagen über den brasilianischen Dschungel und den bei. Er war Mitglied der (Stuhl 4) und Namenspatron des Stuhles 12 der , den erstmals einnahm. Zweimal erhielt er den Prêmio Othon Bezerra de Mello, zunächst 1955 für das Buch Caminhos do Pajeú, das mehr als ein Jahr die Verkaufslisten in Rio de Janeiro anführte und schließlich 1970 für Caminhos do Sertão. 1970 erhielt er auch eine Verdienstmedaille der für seine Beiträge zur brasilianischen Kultur und wurde im September des gleichen Jahres zum Ehrenbürger Recifes ernannt. Dos Santos starb am 30. Juni 1997 im Santa-Joana-Krankenhaus der Stadt Recife an einem Schlaganfall. (de)
- Luíz Cristóvão dos Santos was born in Pesqueira, Brazil on 25 December 1916. He was a sociologist, anthropologist, folklorist, columnist, writer, advocate, and journalist. He was also known by the nicknames Ziul and Pajeú. Luíz Cristóvão dos Santos studied fishing in Recife and completed his bachelor's in law and social sciences at the Recife Faculty of Law in 1944. He was a promoter of justice in various districts of the hinterland of Pernambuco and director of the newspaper Gazeta do Pajeú during the 1950s. He was a candidate for State Deputy UDN – National Democratic Union in 1947 and after obtaining 1,339 votes became an alternate member. He also held candidacy for vice-mayor of the city in 1955. He participated actively in the cultural and political history of Pernambuco, fighting for citizens' rights and defending the state. Due to the premature death of a child, he retired as the second letter from lawyer OAB, the Brazilian Bar Association. A writer since adolescence, Luís Cristóvão dos Santos was also a journalist published in The Voice of the Hinterlands, the Gazeta Pajeú, Diário de Pernambuco and Jornal do Commercio and developed the Journal of Cultural Supplement of the state of Pernambuco. He wrote for several other newspapers in the country and contributed many works in the national press and Italy. Luíz Cristóvão dos Santos was a member of the Academy of Arts in Pernambuco, Chair Four, and Patron of Chair 12 in the College of Letters and Arts Pesqueirense, a position once occupied by the immortal Lamb of Jarival Amaral. He twice received the award Othon Bezerra de Mello from the Academy of Arts Pernambuco with the book Paths of Pajeú (Chronic, 1955, foreword by José Lins do Rego), which became a best seller within a year in Rio de Janeiro, and Paths of the Hinterland (Chronic, 1970, preface by Mauro Mota). He was bestowed with the Medal of Merit of the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation for relevant contribution to Brazilian culture and in September 1970 received the title of Citizen of Recife. He also contributed to the development of several books, documentaries, films, and national reports on the Brazilian jungle and the river Pajeú, for which he was nicknamed. He was later recognized in Italy as a scholar of Frei Damião the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins in Sicily. His biography is being developed under the title ZIUL. Luíz Cristóvão dos Santos died on 30 June 1997 in Santa Joana Hospital in the city of Recife of a stroke. (en)

Também era conhecido pelos pseudônimos Ziul e Pajeú. Estudou em Pesqueira e no Recife e concluiu o curso de bacharel em ciências jurídicas e sociais pela Faculdade de Direito do Recife, em 1944. Funcionário Público Federal e Estadual, foi promotor de Justiça em diversas comarcas do sertão pernambucano. Fundou e Dirigiu o jornal durante a década de 1950, Deputado Estadual pelo estado de Pernambuco na sigla UDN - União Democrática Nacional em 1947, também saiu candidato a vice-prefeito da cidade de Arcoverde em 1955 na chapa de Antônio Napoleão, participou ativamente na história cultural e política de Pernambuco, lutando por seus direitos e defendendo o Estado. Foi Chefe do Departamento Criminal do Estado de Pernambuco de 1976 a 1986. Devido a morte prematura de um filho, aposentou-se como advogado de ofício segundo a OAB, Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil. Escritor desde adolescente, Luís Cristóvão dos Santos também foi jornalista , colaborador do Suplemento Cultural do Diário Oficial do estado de Pernambuco e em vários outros jornais do país, dentre muitos outros trabalhos publicados, contribuiu com muitos trabalhos na imprensa nacional e italiana.
