- Der Präsident des Nationalrates (kurz meist Nationalratspräsident) ist der Vorsitzende des Nationalrats, der ersten Kammer des österreichischen Parlaments. Seit 20. Dezember 2017 ist Wolfgang Sobotka (ÖVP) Präsident des Nationalrats. Die Stellvertreter sind die Zweite Präsidentin, derzeit Doris Bures (SPÖ), und der Dritte Präsident, seit 23. Oktober 2019 Norbert Hofer (FPÖ). Gemeinsam bilden sie das Präsidium des Nationalrates. Das Amt wird in Österreich seit Jahrzehnten, ähnlich wie das des Bundespräsidenten, als Institution der Identitätstiftung verstanden. In der Ersten Republik war das Amt hingegen Teil des Machtkampfes der großen politischen Lager. (de)
