- Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics refer to comic books based on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While many of these comics were published when the television show was on air they are not all considered canonical and often deal with characters who do not appear in the television series, most notably in the Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires mini-series. The first series of books were published by Dark Horse Comics between 1998 and 2004, originally in comic format but then gathered into volumes of trade paperbacks. A small number of Buffy comics have not been included in trade paperbacks, such as the books entitled "Giles", "Jonathan", and "Reunion". Following the television series finale, Dark Horse began releasing new books titled Season Eight, Nine, and Ten, and various spin-offs, which are written and/or supervised by creator Joss Whedon and officially recognized as canon to the show. In 2007, Dark Horse allowed the rights to produce the comics for Buffy's companion show Angel to lapse, and they were picked up for a short time by IDW Publishing, which released the canon series Angel: After the Fall among other non-canon titles. Dark Horse reacquired the rights in 2010 and went on to release the official Angel: Season Six and the spin-off series Angel & Faith. In 2018 it was announced after 20 years at Dark Horse Comics, the license for Buffy and all related material will transfer to BOOM! Studios. The first issue of the reboot series was released in January 2019. (en)

- Buffy l'ammazzavampiri è una serie a fumetti tratta dalla omonima serie televisiva creata da Joss Whedon. La maggior parte del materiale prodotto non è ritenuto canonico, cioè alle linee tracciate dal creatore della serie televisiva ma nonostante questo i volumi editi dalla Dark Horse sono stati approvati da Whedon e inseriti nel merchandising ufficiale. Vengono considerati canonoci i due volumi prequel ambientati nel passato, I racconti delle cacciatrici e I racconti dei vampiri, la trilogia dedicata a Fray e le serie ufficiali ambientate dopo la conclusione dei telefilm, rispettivamente Buffy ottava stagione, Angel: Dopo la caduta, Buffy stagione nove e Angel & Faith. Gli eventi narrati nella serie a fumetti non alterano la continuity della serie televisiva, alcune storie al contrario hanno una precisa collocazione all'interno della cronologia del telefilm e anticipano o seguono trame della serie televisiva. Il film del 1992 non rispetta i suddetti canoni ma il fumetto a esso ispirato, Le Origini, è stato realizzato in modo tale da rientrare nei canoni così come la trilogia "pre-Sunnydale" scritta appositamente per creare continuità tra la trama del film e l'inizio della serie televisiva che, sin dal primo episodio, cita ma non ripropone i fatti accaduti nel lungometraggio. Большинство выпусков вышло в свет во время трансляции эпизодов шоу, и многие второстепенные герои были придуманы специально для графических романов. Самыми примечательными стали сюжеты серий Истории Вампиров и Хроники Истребительниц. Не все из историй считаются каноничными для вселенной сериала, хотя над комиксами в своё время поработали создатель Джосс Уэдон и большинство писателей из команды сценаристов шоу. Все сюжеты были одобрены Уэдоном и студией Fox и позже опубликованы как официальные книги торговой марки Баффи - истребительница вампиров. (ru)
