- El castellà parlat per catalanòfons presenta unes característiques lingüístiques determinades per la interferència entre els dos sistemes lingüístics en els territoris on la immensa majoria de catalanòfons són actualment, en menor o major grau, bilingües.El castellà parlat pels catalanòfons nadius s'esforça a seguir les pautes del dialecte septentrional del castellà, o castellà normatiu, sense formar-ne part pròpiament, en no ésser parla transmesa de pares a fills; els trets comuns al català dels catalanòfons tenen a veure amb el paper del català com a substrat, i no pas a cap autonomia dialectal. Això es deu al fet que, històricament, dins del domini lingüístic català el castellà no ha estat llengua transmesa per via familiar, i encara avui no és la primera llengua per als catalanòfons.Resumim ací alguns dels trets característics del castellà tal com és parlat pels catalanòfons. Generalment es tracta d'interferències del sistema lingüístic català sobre el sistema de la llengua castellana. (ca)
- La Variedad del idioma español en territorios catalanófonos es el conjunto de variedad lingüística del castellano hablado en territorios catalanoparlantes. Estos rasgos surgen por el contacto lingüístico entre los idiomas español y catalán que incluyen: Cataluña, Comunidad Valenciana, las Islas Baleares, Andorra y la Franja Oriental de Aragón. Muchos de los rasgos de esta variedad se deben a rasgos propios del idioma catalán, aunque también existen rasgos que no se deben a este idioma. Algunos de los rasgos morfosintácticos del catalán son transferidos inconscientemente por algunos hablantes cuando hablan en castellano. En muchos hablantes cuya lengua materna es el catalán también existen ciertas influencias de realización alofónica de ciertos sonidos, lo que informalmente se conoce como parte del "acento catalán". - The Spanish language is widely spoken in most of the Catalan-speaking territories, where it is partly characterized by language contact with the Catalan language. These territories are: Catalonia, the Valencian Community (except some inland areas which are only Spanish-speaking), the Balearic Islands, Andorra, and the easternmost areas of Aragon. This linguistic contact is encouraged by the fact that almost all of the Catalan speakers in these regions are Catalan–Spanish bilingual to a greater or lesser extent. Many of the features of this Spanish language variety are present due to the transfer of distinctive features of the Catalan language. Many speakers whose native language is Catalan feature an accent brought about through the transfer of phonetic and phonological features from Catalan; such features are recognized by the listener as a "Catalan accent." Some of the listed features can sometimes be found in native Spanish speakers who live in Catalan-speaking areas; however, in the case of speakers who are not bilingual, this happens almost exclusively with lexical features.
