Die Single Whole Lotta Rosie gehört inzwischen zu den bekanntesten Stücken der Band und schaffte 1980 einen Eintritt in die UK Top 40 auf Platz 36. Wie schon bei den vorhergehenden Alben sind die Tracklisten der australischen und internationalen Version von Let There Be Rock leicht verschieden. Für die internationale Version wurde der Song Crabsody in Blue durch eine gekürzte Version des Songs Problem Child ersetzt, der schon auf Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap enthalten gewesen war.   • Let there be rock est un album d'AC/DC sorti en 1977. Album décisif pour AC/DC, sans doute le meilleur de l'ère Bon Scott . En effet, comme le précise Angus, le groupe voulait un album “plein de guitares”. La légende veut que durant l’enregistrement, l’un des amplis d’Angus ait pris feu, et que George Young lui demandera de continuer à jouer . Certains fans prétendent qu'on peut entendre les grésillements de cet ampli en feu en écoutant "Whole lotta Rosie". Le son fait moins "garage", comparé aux précédents, beaucoup plus professionnel. Comme d’habitude, l’Australie a droit à une pochette différente de l’Europe, plus sobre, avec un fond noir, et un gros plan sur une guitare. On notera aussi que l’édition vinyle contient Crabsody in Blue qui sera absent de la réédition CD européenne (remplacé par Problem Child). Titeln "Let There Be Rock" har inspirerats av Chuck Berrys låt "Roll Over Beethoven" och titeln passade bandet bra som kontrast till den då populära disco-musiken. Albumet släpptes i tre versioner; en internationell, en australiensisk och en sydafrikansk. Den australiensiska versionen har ett annorlunda skivkonvolut förställande en gitarrhals. På grund av ett färgfel blev AC/DC-loggan på omslaget till den sydafrikanska upplagan grön med en lila bakgrund, vilket gjort de få exeplar som hann tryckas till mycket eftertraktade samlarobjekt. På omslaget syns samtliga bandmedlemmar i 1977:s lineup, Malcom längst till vänster, Phil i mitten och Mark till höger. Bon och Angus står längst fram. Denna scenställning har varit oförändrad genom AC/DC:s karriär. Det var även på detta album som den klassiska AC/DC-loggan gjorde entré med ett populärt typsnitt som blev standard för resterande album. Två musikvideor spelades även in för marknadsföring, den ena var "Dog Eat Dog" och den andra "Let There Be Rock".
