- Alexander Nikopol (Alcide Nikopol im frz. Original) ist die Hauptfigur der gleichnamigen Comic-Trilogie von Enki Bilal und gleichzeitig seine bekannteste Comicfigur. Diese Science-Fiction-Reihe, die das Aufeinandertreffen von ägyptischen Göttern mit einer postapokalyptischen Gesellschaft zum Thema hat, wird in der Sekundärliteratur nach ihrer Hauptfigur auch Nikopol-Trilogie genannt und besteht aus den Bänden Die Geschäfte der Unsterblichen (fr. La Foire aux immortels), Die Frau in der Zukunft (fr. La Femme piège) und Äquatorkälte (fr. Froid équateur). Die Erstveröffentlichung der einzelnen Comics fand zwischen 1980 und 1992 statt. - La Trilogie Nikopol est un ensemble de trois bandes dessinées réalisées par Enki Bilal entre 1980 et 1993. Cette trilogie comprend La Foire aux immortels, La Femme piège et Froid Équateur. Histoire mêlant science-fiction et poésie, elle met en scène les aventures de Horus d'Hiéraknopolis, un dieu rebelle qui échappe à la tutelle des siens et intervient dans la vie des humains, d'Alcide Nikopol, contestataire parisien fanatique de Baudelaire en provenance du passé, ainsi que de son fils, du même âge que lui, de Paris à Équateur-City (Afrique centrale) en passant par Berlin. La trilogie Nikopol a incontestablement contribué à renouveler la bande dessinée des années 1980. Poétique, drôle, surréaliste, elle a aussi inspiré le film Immortel, ad vitam, réalisé par Enki Bilal, et le jeu vidéo Nikopol : la Foire aux immortels, réalisé par le studio White Birds Productions sous sa supervision. Dans Froid Équateur, le personnage se livre à une compétition de chessboxing. - The Nikopol Trilogy is a series of three science fiction graphic novels written in French by Yugoslavian-born Enki Bilal, published between 1980 and 1992. The original French titles of the series are La Foire aux immortels (1980), La Femme piège (1986), and Froid Équateur (1992), which in 1995 were collected together in a single volume entitled La Trilogie Nikopol. The individual stories were translated into English and published by Humanoids Publishing under the titles Gods in Chaos, The Woman Trap, and Cold Equator. In 1999, the trilogy was also published in English as a single volume, The Nikopol Trilogy. The series is regarded as one of the most original science fiction comics which have revolutionised the conventions of comic art. The central plot of the trilogy, set in 2023 Paris, follows Alcide Nikopol who returns from a 30-year sentence spent orbiting the Earth under cryopreservation to find France under fascist rule following two nuclear wars. The books have been adapted into the video game Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals, published by White Birds Productions, and a movie, entitled Immortal. (en)
